The Essenza by Bassocontinuo Genesis Proton is a modular high-performance audio rack designed to bring Bassocontinuo's approach to vibration control, precision construction, and Italian design to a more accessible HiFi system. Part of the Genesis Line, Proton provides a stable, mechanically controlled foundation for amplifiers, preamplifiers, streamers, DACs, turntables, and other high-performance audio components.

Designed and manufactured in Italy, the Proton combines solid-steel construction with high-density shelves and a carefully engineered decoupling system. Rather than functioning simply as furniture, the rack is designed to help isolate sensitive audio electronics from unwanted mechanical vibration and resonance that can compromise system performance. Essenza's rack designs are subjected to static, structural, and accelerometric testing in collaboration with independent Italian analysis laboratory Vicoter.

Engineered for High-Performance Audio

The Proton uses four solid-steel legs supporting 22 mm HDF shelves, with rubber washers positioned between the legs and shelves to provide mechanical decoupling. Height-adjustable solid stainless-steel spikes provide a stable interface with the floor, while included floor-saving discs protect finished surfaces.

Further resonance control is provided by four HDR Harmonic Damping Resonators positioned beneath the top shelf. These dampers are engineered to help control unwanted shelf resonance and provide a more stable platform for sensitive source components.

Modular and Upgradeable

The Genesis Proton is designed to evolve with your audio system. Its modular architecture allows the rack to be expanded with additional shelves as components are added or a system changes.

An optional Vinyl Shelf is also available for turntables. Its floating structure utilizes Torlon spheres to provide an additional level of mechanical isolation, helping protect analog playback from vibration and mechanical interference.

Stormy Black Finish

The Proton is offered in the sophisticated Stormy Black finish, combining matte black shelves with a black-coated steel structure. The shelf finish uses a UV-stabilized process for increased resistance to wear, while the material is designed so that minor surface scratches can be restored through the application of heat and gentle rubbing.
