The B18 loudspeaker is a 2.5-way bass-reflex speaker with a front-firing design and is a sonic all-rounder: space-saving, yet highly musical and dynamically responsive. High-frequency reproduction benefits from the ring radiator developed exclusively for Burmester, which ensures optimal transparency and resolution. The mid-bass and mid-woofer are further developments based on a proven driver, which now also contributes to the B18’s impressive sound performance.

The highly complex crossover is located in its own housing chamber, as is the mid-bass driver, whose own closed housing ensures a particularly clean midrange performance.

The B18’s sandwich-constructed base is made of a high-molecular-weight thermoplastic polymer combined with other materials offering high internal damping and rigidity for optimal decoupling of the speaker from the floor. The solid MDF front, in conjunction with the cabinet optimized using FEM analysis, ensures accurate, precise bass reproduction and significantly reduces cabinet resonance. In addition to mechanical damping provided by a foam cylinder, the B18 speaker features a bass switch for adjusting the bass response to the room acoustics and personal listening preferences.
