Description
Burmester 956 MK2 Power amplifier
For Classic Line; the 956 MK2 stereo power amplifier combines high power output with excellent musical timing and dynamics. Its sound is characterized by impressive spatial resolution and warmth.
Power amplifier
The 956 MK2 stereo power amplifier expands the legendary amplifier family of the internationally acclaimed 909 power amplifier. A particular strength of the 956 MK2 is its exceptionally high damping factor, coupled with the ability to deliver high currents with a very short rise time. This allows it to combine impressive power with great dynamics and excellent timing.
Sonically, it shines with captivating spatial resolution and musical warmth. The power supply to the output stages and the signal transmission to the speaker terminals are ensured by high-purity copper cables with a substantial 10 mm diameter. This high-quality construction guarantees that the high currents reach the robust speaker teminals without loss. The power amplifier helps even speakers with low impedance values and complex loads achieve a pleasantly airy sound with confident dynamics.
IMPRESSIONS
With attention to the finest details.
Recognizable at first glance as a typical Burmester, the Burmester 956 MK2 power amplifier draws on characteristic design elements of the Classic Line.
Design
The 956 MK 2 also utilizes our own heat sinks in the distinctive Burmester design. Externally, the amplifier thus blends seamlessly into the Burmester amplifier family, and its technical design is based on the same principles as the larger models. The DC-coupled signal path, for example, guarantees, as with the 909 and 911, a pleasing sound, even during the most demanding musical passages, since the signal path is free of sound-distorting capacitors. The consistently symmetrical circuit design, in conjunction with the Class-A amplifier stages, ensures a warm and richly tonal reproduction of the music.
Handmade
Like all Burmester products in the high-end home audio sector, the Burmester 956 MK2 power amplifier is, of course, handcrafted in the Berlin factory and subject to the same stringent testing criteria. Each unit undergoes up to 300 different measurements before and after a week-long stress test. Archiving the test reports for all our manufactured units allows for the restoration of the original condition at any time, if needed. These reports also serve as a reference for modifications, which, as part of our long-term planning, offer the opportunity to benefit from technological advancements.
