VPI Prime 21 High-End Turntable

The VPI Prime 21 Turntable refines one of VPI’s most successful high-end turntable designs with improved isolation, greater structural rigidity, and VPI’s advanced 3D Gimbal tonearm. Designed for serious vinyl enthusiasts, the Prime 21 combines substantial construction with the adjustability and upgrade potential expected from a reference-quality analog source.

Building on the original VPI Prime, the Prime 21 incorporates HW-40 isolation feet, a newly machined top plate with additional bracing, and improved mechanical isolation to create a more stable platform for the platter, tonearm, and cartridge.

VPI 3D Gimbal Tonearm

The Prime 21 features VPI’s 3D Gimbal tonearm, combining the low-mass advantages of VPI’s 3D arm technology with the stability and ease of use of a precision gimbal-bearing design.

The result is a tonearm platform designed to accommodate a wide range of high-performance moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges, while providing the adjustability necessary for proper cartridge setup and optimization.

Improved Isolation & Construction

One of the most important improvements to the Prime 21 is the use of VPI HW-40 isolation feet, technology developed from VPI’s higher-level turntable designs.

The Prime 21 also receives a machined top plate with additional bracing and isolation, increasing rigidity and creating a more controlled mechanical foundation for vinyl playback.

Combined with VPI’s substantial platter and motor architecture, the Prime 21 is designed to deliver excellent speed stability, low noise, detail retrieval, dynamics, and soundstage dimensionality.
