Overview
VPI Forever Model One Turntable
The VPI Forever Model One introduces a new generation of VPI turntable design built around a simple idea: your turntable should be able to evolve with you.
Created as the first model in the VPI Forever Series, the Model One combines more than 45 years of VPI analog experience with a fully modular architecture, new 3-point floating suspension system, substantial 20-pound aluminum platter, and VPI's new 10-inch S-shaped tonearm.
Rather than designing a turntable that eventually needs to be replaced as technology changes, VPI designed the Forever platform so major components can be serviced, replaced and upgraded over time.
A Turntable Designed to Evolve
The defining feature of the Forever Model One is its modular construction.
Both the motor and platter module and the tonearm module can be replaced, allowing the turntable to evolve as VPI develops future upgrades.
For someone investing in a serious analog system, that's a meaningful distinction. The Model One isn't intended to be a dead-end product. It's designed to provide a foundation that can grow along with your cartridge, phono stage and the rest of your system.
VPI backs the Forever Series with a 10-year warranty, reinforcing the long-term philosophy behind the platform.
New 3-Point Floating Suspension
The Model One introduces VPI's 3-Point Floating Suspension, a fully adjustable isolation system designed to reduce both internal and external vibration.
A high-tech polymer isolates the suspension while providing adjustment for proper turntable leveling.
The goal is straightforward: keep vibration and motor noise away from the platter, tonearm and cartridge so the stylus can concentrate on what's actually contained in the record groove.
20-Pound Aluminum Platter
The Forever Model One uses a substantial 12-inch aluminum platter weighing 20 pounds.
The combination of platter mass, precision belt drive and the Model One's floating suspension provides a stable mechanical foundation for vinyl playback.
A 300 RPM motor and precision-machined pulley complete the drive system.
VPI Forever 10-Inch S-Shaped Tonearm
The Model One introduces VPI's 10-inch S-shaped Forever tonearm.
Unlike the JMW and Fatboy arms found elsewhere in the VPI lineup, this is a statically balanced S-shaped design with a removable solid-aluminum headshell.
That removable headshell can be particularly useful for vinyl enthusiasts who want the flexibility to change cartridges without completely reinstalling and realigning a cartridge every time.
The arm also includes anti-skating and height adjustment for proper cartridge setup.

Upgrade Potential
The Forever Model One was designed from the beginning with upgrades in mind.
VPI currently lists available upgrade options including:
- Periphery Ring Clamp – helps flatten warped records and improve record-to-platter contact
- Analog Drive System (ADS) – provides enhanced speed control and adjustment
- Fatboy Tonearm – available in Gimbal or UniPivot configurations
- Modular Two
- Replaceable motor and platter module
- Replaceable tonearm module
That upgrade path is really what separates the Forever concept from a conventional turntable. You can start with the Model One and continue developing the platform instead of replacing the entire turntable.
