Tributaries Series 8AD MKII Digital Coaxial RCA Cable

75-Ohm S/PDIF Digital Audio Interconnect • 18AWG Silver-Plated LC-OFC Copper • Triple Shielding • Nitrogen-Injected Foam Polyethylene Dielectric • Gold-Plated Tellurium Copper RCA Connectors • Made in USA

The Tributaries Series 8AD MKII is a high-performance 75-ohm digital coaxial RCA cable engineered for accurate S/PDIF signal transmission between premium digital audio components. Featuring an 18AWG Linear Crystal Oxygen-Free Copper (LC-OFC) conductor with 2.5% silver plating, precision-controlled coaxial geometry and heavy triple shielding, the 8AD MKII maintains signal integrity in demanding high-resolution audio systems.

Hand-assembled in Orlando, Florida, the Series 8AD MKII combines advanced conductor metallurgy, a three-layer dielectric structure and proprietary Tellurium copper RCA connectors to support stable digital transmission between CD transports, network streamers, DACs and compatible digital processors.

75-Ohm Precision Coaxial Construction

The 8AD MKII maintains a consistent 75-ohm characteristic impedance, essential for minimizing signal reflections and impedance discontinuities in S/PDIF digital audio connections.

Its precision coaxial architecture uses a centrally positioned 18AWG conductor surrounded by three concentric dielectric layers. This construction supports accurate signal transmission across the wide bandwidth required for digital audio applications.

Silver-Plated LC-OFC Copper Conductor

The 8AD MKII features high-purity Linear Crystal Oxygen-Free Copper with 2.5% silver plating.

The silver-plated conductor is engineered for high-frequency signal transmission, while the LC-OFC copper core provides excellent electrical conductivity. Its 18AWG construction forms the foundation of the cable's controlled-impedance design.

Triple-Layer Dielectric and Shielding

Tributaries surrounds the center conductor with a precision dielectric consisting of:

  • Inner dielectric skin

  • Nitrogen-injected foamed polyethylene

  • Outer dielectric skin

The concentric structure maintains consistent spacing between the center conductor and shielding, supporting stable 75-ohm impedance throughout the cable.

Triple shielding provides additional protection against electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference, reducing the risk of external noise affecting digital signal transmission.

Gold-Plated Tellurium Copper RCA Connectors

The Series 8AD MKII uses proprietary gold-plated Tellurium copper RCA connectors selected for electrical conductivity, mechanical strength and reliable contact.

Silver-soldered terminations provide secure conductor-to-connector connections. A decorative woven exterior covers a UL CL2-rated PVC jacket for durability and installation flexibility.
