Engineering That Moves With the World

The defining feature of the Artus is its gimbal-mounted construction, also known as cardanic suspension.

Rather than rigidly attaching the entire turntable assembly to a stationary platform, Transrotor mounts it within a framework that permits movement in multiple directions.

The purpose is to compensate for vibrations originating from the supporting surface.

This is a fundamentally different approach from simply adding isolation feet beneath a conventional turntable. The suspension is incorporated into the architecture of the complete machine.

Transrotor identifies this freely moving assembly as one of the Artus's principal engineering features.

 

The result is a remarkable piece of visible mechanical engineering: the suspension isn't concealed beneath a cabinet. It is part of the Artus's unmistakable identity.

Three Motors. A Rotating Magnetic Field.

The Artus uses three motors to generate its rotating magnetic drive field.

This arrangement works with Transrotor's Free Magnet Drive system, transferring rotational energy magnetically rather than relying on a conventional direct mechanical connection between the drive and the platter.

The intention is to reduce the transmission of unwanted mechanical energy from the drive system into the rotating assembly.

Transrotor combines this architecture with its dedicated Konstant FMD power supply.

The three-motor arrangement and magnetic drive are fundamental elements of the Artus—not optional upgrades added to an otherwise conventional turntable.

 

A Monument in Aluminum and Acrylic

The Artus makes no attempt to disguise its construction.

Substantial aluminum components, acrylic surfaces, and an elaborate supporting structure create an appearance closer to a precision mechanical installation than a traditional record player.

The chassis combines aluminum and acrylic, while the platter also uses an aluminum-and-acrylic construction.

A chrome record weight completes the platter assembly.

Every major element contributes to the visual character of the machine, from the towering support structure to the suspended turntable at its center.

A Tonearm Platform Built for Precision

The Artus features a resonance-optimized tonearm base with continuously adjustable positioning.

This allows the tonearm mounting arrangement to be tailored to the selected arm and cartridge rather than forcing every installation into a single fixed configuration.

The manufacturer confirms the adjustable base. A distributor listing additionally describes configurations accommodating up to two tonearms, with mounting options for 9-inch or 12-inch arms. The precise configuration should be confirmed when the system is ordered.

 

At this level, tonearm and cartridge selection should be considered part of the overall system design.

A customer may choose a single reference stereo cartridge or develop a configuration incorporating a second arm for mono playback or a different cartridge profile.

Tonearms and cartridges are not identified as included in the base U.S. package.
