Transrotor Rondino Nero FMD Turntable

rondino transrotor fmd

More Than a Black Rondino.

The Transrotor Rondino Nero FMD isn't simply the darker version of the Rondino Bianco. Beneath its dramatic black finish is a different chassis construction, designed to create an even more substantial foundation for analog playback.

Two layers of black acrylic surround a solid aluminum center layer, forming a rigid sandwich chassis that supports a 10 kg platter. Transrotor's contact-free Free Magnet Drive (FMD) completes the mechanical architecture, while the continuously adjustable tonearm mounting system accommodates up to three tonearms.

The result is a turntable that combines striking industrial design with serious engineering and the flexibility to build an ambitious vinyl playback system.

A Different Chassis. A Different Approach.

Transrotor | Rondino Nero FMD

The defining distinction between the Rondino Nero and Bianco is more than color.

The Nero uses a three-layer chassis: black acrylic, solid aluminum, and black acrylic. This sandwich construction creates a substantial foundation for the platter, bearing, and tonearm assembly.

Transrotor designed the layered structure to improve stability and reduce unwanted mechanical noise within the turntable.

The aluminum center layer also provides a distinctive visual contrast between the polished black acrylic surfaces, giving the Nero a purposeful, architectural appearance.

Ten Kilograms of Rotational Authority

Transrotor | Rondino Nero FMD

The Rondino Nero's substantial platter weighs 10 kg and combines aluminum with acrylic.

Its mass provides rotational inertia, helping the platter maintain consistent movement as the stylus follows the record groove.

A solid aluminum record weight completes the platter assembly.

Together with the layered chassis and magnetic drive system, these components form the mechanical foundation of the Rondino Nero.

Free Magnet Drive: Contact-Free Rotation

The Rondino Nero incorporates Transrotor's Free Magnet Drive technology as standard equipment.

FMD uses magnetic coupling to transfer rotational movement without direct mechanical contact between the drive and platter sections. The system is designed to limit the transmission of unwanted drive-related vibration.

The dedicated Konstant FMD power supply is included in the manufacturer's standard configuration and in the supplied U.S. distributor's deck listing.

Unlike models that require a separate power-supply purchase, the Rondino Nero arrives with the power supply specified for its FMD architecture.

One Tonearm Is Just the Beginning

Transrotor | Rondino Nero FMD

The Rondino Nero's continuously adjustable tonearm mounting system accommodates up to three tonearms.

This gives serious vinyl collectors the freedom to build a system around different cartridges and record formats.

You might dedicate one arm to a moving-coil cartridge for stereo recordings, another to a mono cartridge, and a third to a different cartridge or stylus profile.

Additional mounting hardware, tonearms, and cartridges are available separately. The turntable can therefore begin as a single-arm system and develop as your collection and listening preferences evolve.

A Statement in Black Acrylic and Aluminum

At 38 kg, the Rondino Nero has a commanding physical presence.

Its black acrylic surfaces, exposed aluminum center layer, and distinctive tonearm mounting structure give it an appearance that is both sculptural and unmistakably mechanical.

For customers who want a purpose-built support solution, Transrotor also offers a dedicated Rondino rack as an optional accessory.

The Nero is a natural centerpiece for a dedicated listening room, particularly when paired with carefully selected electronics and an appropriate equipment rack.
