Adjust Your Tonearm Without Stopping the Music

One of the Alto's defining features is its continuously adjustable tonearm base.

Unlike a conventional arrangement that requires playback to stop before making certain adjustments, the Alto allows the tonearm's height to be changed while a record is playing.

This makes it possible to fine-tune vertical tracking angle (VTA) and the corresponding stylus rake angle while listening.

Different records can vary in thickness, and cartridges respond differently to changes in tonearm geometry. The Alto gives experienced listeners a convenient way to explore these adjustments without interrupting playback.

The tonearm base also offers continuously adjustable mounting distance, providing additional flexibility when configuring compatible tonearms.

 

Transrotor Magnetic Drive Comes Standard

The Alto incorporates Transrotor's TMD bearing as standard equipment.

TMD stands for Transrotor Magnetic Drive. The system uses magnetic coupling within the drive mechanism to reduce the direct transmission of unwanted mechanical energy to the platter.

By separating the driven and platter sections through a magnetic coupling, Transrotor aims to achieve smooth, stable rotation while limiting mechanical interference.

For the Alto, this technology is part of the standard turntable architecture rather than an optional upgrade.

 

Three Tonearms. A World of Possibilities.

The Alto can accommodate up to three tonearms.

For a serious record collector, this opens up possibilities that go well beyond a conventional single-arm turntable.

You could configure one arm with a moving-coil cartridge for stereo recordings, another with a dedicated mono cartridge, and a third with a different stylus profile for particular records.

The Alto's adjustable mounting architecture allows specialist dealers to configure compatible tonearms around the owner's requirements.

Additional tonearm bases, tonearms, and cartridges are optional components rather than part of the deck-only U.S. configuration.

 

Expand From One Motor to Three

The Alto offers an unusually flexible motor architecture.

The standard turntable can be expanded with additional motors, allowing a configuration of up to three motors in total.

Your U.S. distributor lists separate second- and third-motor upgrade kits, with specific power-supply requirements for each.

This makes it possible to develop the drive system as the rest of the analog setup evolves.
