The Theory Audio Design DLC-1500.4d is a high-power, four-channel amplified loudspeaker controller engineered for demanding home theater, architectural audio and professional distributed sound installations. Combining up to 3,000 watts of amplification, Dante/AES67 network audio and advanced digital signal processing in a compact 2U rackmount chassis, it provides the power and flexibility required for sophisticated residential and commercial audio systems.

With up to 1,500 watts available from a bridged channel pair and 800 watts per channel into 2 or 4 ohms, the DLC-1500.4d can drive high-output loudspeakers and large distributed audio systems. Direct 70V/100V operation eliminates the need for internal output transformers, while integrated Theory loudspeaker processing simplifies system configuration and optimization.

Theory Professional

The controller can power up to 16 compatible Theory 16-ohm loudspeakers in low-impedance mode or more than 300 compatible speakers at 7.5 watts each in high-impedance installations, subject to system design and power requirements.

Dante and AES67 Network Audio

Integrated four-channel Dante and AES67 audio-over-IP connectivity enables digital audio distribution over standard Ethernet networks. This simplifies signal routing between networked audio equipment and reduces the need for extensive analog cabling in large installations.

The DLC-1500.4d also provides balanced analog, unbalanced RCA and S/PDIF digital connectivity, allowing traditional audio sources and networked equipment to operate within the same system.

Integrated DSP and Theory Loudspeaker Optimization

Built-in 32-bit DSP provides model-specific processing for Theory loudspeakers alongside extensive tools for system calibration and audio management.

An input matrix mixer, parametric equalization, crossovers, delay, polarity adjustment and peak and RMS limiters allow installers to configure each loudspeaker channel for its intended application. Priority-based signal routing and automatic audio ducking support installations with multiple sources or announcement requirements.

Configuration is available through the onboard web interface using wired Ethernet or the controller's built-in Wi-Fi access point.

Control4 and Professional Automation Integration

The DLC-1500.4d supports integration with leading residential automation and professional control platforms through its published API and available control modules, including Control4, Crestron, Crestron Home, AMX, ELAN, Josh.ai, Q-SYS, RTI and Symetrix.

For installations requiring convenient local control, the optional Theory DLC-CTRL wall controller provides PoE-powered source selection and volume adjustment.
