Overview
Theory Audio Design sb25 High-Output Multi-Use Loudspeaker
The Theory Audio Design sb25 combines high-output performance, exceptionally wide dispersion and versatile mounting options in a remarkably slim architectural loudspeaker. Featuring dual 5-inch carbon-fiber woofers and a 1.4-inch compression driver, the sb25 delivers powerful, detailed sound for luxury residential audio systems, home theaters and demanding commercial installations.
Measuring just 3.8 inches deep, the sb25 can be wall-mounted, installed on compatible ceiling or pole mounts, or positioned on an optional tabletop stand. Its wide-bandwidth design, 123 dB peak output and dedicated Theory DSP processing make it suitable for both high-fidelity music reproduction and high-impact entertainment systems.
High-Output Performance in a Slim Enclosure
The sb25 incorporates two proprietary 5-inch carbon-fiber low-frequency drivers and a 1.4-inch Advanced Polymer high-frequency compression driver. Its aluminum enclosure provides a rigid, compact platform engineered for demanding audio applications.
With a specified frequency response of 54 Hz–23 kHz (-6 dB), the sb25 delivers extended bass and detailed high-frequency reproduction without requiring a large conventional speaker cabinet.
Its 800-watt peak power handling and maximum peak output of 123 dB SPL provide substantial dynamic headroom for foreground music, home theater and commercial entertainment.
Wide, Uniform Sound Coverage
The sb25 delivers 125-degree conical coverage, maintaining consistent sound across a broad listening area. Its dispersion extends to 160 degrees at -12 dB, helping preserve tonal balance and clarity for listeners positioned away from the primary listening axis.
This makes the sb25 particularly useful in open-concept living spaces, restaurants, hospitality venues, retail environments and entertainment areas where consistent coverage is essential.
Theory's published Klippel measurements demonstrate smooth off-axis behavior and broad horizontal and vertical dispersion, including coverage exceeding 120 degrees at -6 dB at 12 kHz.
Versatile Architectural Mounting
The sb25's slim aluminum enclosure supports a wide range of installation configurations without compromising its architectural appearance.
Included Theory Z-Clip mounting brackets allow the loudspeaker to be installed directly against a flat wall, with a total installed depth of just 3.93 inches.
For more complex installations, the optional Universal Mount Adapter Kit provides compatibility with 75 mm and 100 mm VESA mounting patterns, selected wall and ceiling mounts, and rigid conduit mounting.
Theory also offers an optional sb-STAND accessory for positioning the sb25 on speaker stands, consoles, mixing desks, bookshelves and other flat surfaces.
Dedicated Theory DSP Processing
The sb25 is a passive 4-ohm loudspeaker designed to operate with one channel of compatible Theory loudspeaker controller amplification and model-specific Theory-certified DSP processing.
This processing provides the loudspeaker-specific optimization required to achieve its intended frequency response, output capability and system performance.
Compatible Theory amplified loudspeaker controllers allow the sb25 to be integrated into sophisticated residential and commercial audio installations with centralized amplification and system management.
