The Theory Audio Design iws12-6 is a high-output 12-inch architectural subwoofer designed to deliver powerful, articulate bass while remaining virtually invisible in custom home theaters, media rooms and high-performance architectural audio systems. With an enclosure just 5.5 inches deep, it installs flush into standard 2 × 6 stud walls, providing substantial low-frequency performance without occupying valuable floor space.

At its core is a high-power, long-throw 12-inch woofer with a 4-inch voice coil, engineered to handle 1,400 watts of continuous power and deliver up to 127 dB SPL at one meter. Its frequency response extends to 24 Hz (-3 dB), with usable bass extension down to 18 Hz (-10 dB), delivering the depth and impact demanded by cinematic soundtracks and dynamic music.

Designed to integrate with Theory loudspeakers, ALC amplification and model-specific DSP processing, the iws12-6 brings high-output bass to installations where conventional subwoofers are impractical. An optional low-profile, paintable metal grille allows it to blend into the surrounding architecture.

Architectural Installation and System Integration

The iws12-6 is purpose-built for installations where powerful bass must coexist with a clean, unobtrusive interior. Its tall, narrow enclosure fits between standard 16-inch-on-center wall studs, making it suitable for dedicated home theaters, media rooms and architectural audio projects.

Ten low-profile steel angle mounting brackets provide secure installation. The optional paintable grille allows the finished subwoofer to blend into the wall, preserving the room's design without sacrificing low-frequency performance.

For optimal operation, the iws12-6 requires a compatible Theory ALC amplifier channel and model-specific Theory-certified DSP processing.

Important: The iws12-6 enclosure and iws12 speaker assembly are sold separately. The optional paintable grille is also available separately.
