Delivering performance comparable to Theory's larger SR-112.2 in a slimmer enclosure, the SR-28.2 is designed for installations where powerful output, controlled coverage and discreet placement are equally important.

Two 8-inch low-frequency drivers work alongside a 1.75-inch advanced polymer compression driver and an 80° × 60° elliptical horn to deliver consistent sound throughout the listening area. With frequency response extending from 45 Hz to 23 kHz (-3 dB) and peak output reaching 129 dB SPL at one meter, the SR-28.2 provides the dynamic range and clarity required for demanding commercial and residential applications.

Its compact, versatile design makes it suitable for live entertainment venues, houses of worship, corporate spaces, private cinemas and professional stage monitoring. Multiple suspension points, interchangeable pole mounts and optional SplitYoke mounting brackets allow the SR-28.2 to adapt to both permanent installations and portable sound reinforcement.

Built to order in the United States, the SR-28.2 is available in black or white, with passive and self-powered configurations. Custom paint matching and optional weatherization for the passive version provide additional flexibility for architectural and outdoor audio projects.

Installation and System Integration

The SR-28.2 offers the output and coverage characteristics of a larger sound reinforcement loudspeaker in a narrower enclosure, making it particularly useful for installations where space and aesthetics are critical.

Its 80° horizontal and 60° vertical coverage pattern provides predictable sound distribution, while its controlled directivity supports consistent tonal balance across the audience. The loudspeaker can also be installed in portrait or landscape orientation to accommodate different coverage requirements.

For permanent installations, the SR-28.2 includes 28 M10 suspension points and interchangeable mounting hardware. Optional Theory SplitYoke brackets accommodate wall mounting, ceiling mounting and floor-monitor applications.

The passive configuration requires two compatible Theory loudspeaker controller channels for bi-amplified operation, together with model-specific Theory-certified DSP processing. A self-powered version is also available.

For outdoor installations, the optional weatherized passive version replaces the standard birch plywood cabinet with a marine-grade composite enclosure and protective polyurea finish.
