Goldmund Theia Active Stereo Speakers
A monumental four-way active loudspeaker with 875 watts of built-in Telos amplification per speaker, Goldmund DSP, Leonardo Time Correction, and bass extension to 21Hz.
The Goldmund Theia Active Stereo Speakers bring Goldmund's loudspeaker, amplification, and digital processing technologies together in a single reference system.
Each Theia incorporates four dedicated drivers, 875 watts of built-in Telos amplification, advanced 24-bit/96kHz digital signal processing, and Goldmund's proprietary Leonardo Time Correction. The result eliminates the need to separately match power amplifiers, passive crossovers, and loudspeaker cables while giving Goldmund direct control over the relationship between amplification, DSP, and every individual driver.
Standing more than five feet tall and weighing approximately 441 pounds per speaker, Theia is a true statement loudspeaker engineered and handcrafted in Switzerland.
Four-Way Active Architecture
Each Theia uses four drivers dedicated to specific portions of the frequency spectrum:
1 × Soft-Dome Tweeter
1 × 4" High-Midrange Driver
1 × 6" Low-Midrange Driver
1 × 12" Woofer
Unlike a conventional passive loudspeaker, Theia uses digital filtering and dedicated amplification to control the individual drivers directly.
This architecture allows Goldmund to optimize crossover behavior, amplification, timing, and driver response as one integrated system.
875 Watts of Built-In Telos Amplification — Per Speaker
Every Theia contains its own 875-watt Goldmund Telos amplifier system.
Amplification is distributed as:
175W – Tweeter
175W – High-Midrange
175W – Low-Midrange
350W – Woofer
That means a stereo pair incorporates 1,750 watts of dedicated Goldmund Telos amplification.
Because the amplifiers are integrated directly into the loudspeaker, they can drive the individual transducers without a conventional passive crossover sitting between amplifier and driver.
Leonardo Time Correction
Theia incorporates Goldmund's proprietary Leonardo Time Correction technology within its DSP architecture.
Conventional multi-way loudspeakers can introduce phase and timing errors because their individual drivers and crossover networks do not reproduce every frequency at precisely the same moment.
Leonardo is engineered to correct these time-domain relationships digitally, improving phase behavior and allowing the individual drivers to operate as a more coherent acoustic source.
The goal is not simply frequency accuracy, but accurate reproduction of the timing relationships contained within the recording.
Proteus LS Modeling
Theia was developed using Goldmund Proteus LS, the company's proprietary loudspeaker modeling technology.
Proteus allows Goldmund engineers to analyze critical loudspeaker behavior including driver displacement, acoustic output, cabinet interaction, and other parameters before integrating the system with its DSP and amplification architecture.
Theia inherits this technology from Goldmund's flagship Gaïa platform.
24-Bit / 96kHz DSP
Theia's internal digital processing operates at 24-bit/96kHz.
Digital filtering allows Goldmund to control crossover behavior, driver timing, gain, and other parameters in software rather than relying on a traditional network of capacitors, resistors, and inductors between the amplifier and drivers.
Each amplifier can therefore connect much more directly to the transducer it controls.
Bass Extension to 21Hz
A massive 12-inch woofer and vented enclosure give Theia exceptionally deep low-frequency capability without requiring a separate subwoofer for full-range music reproduction.
Goldmund specifies a frequency response extending from:
21Hz (-6dB) to 25kHz
The 350-watt dedicated woofer amplifier provides the power required to control the large bass driver independently of the amplification serving the midrange and high-frequency drivers.
The result is genuine full-range performance from an integrated active loudspeaker system.
Wired and Wireless Playback
Theia supports both wired digital and wireless audio.
Each speaker provides a digital S/PDIF input along with an integrated wireless audio input.
The wireless architecture allows Theia to become part of an exceptionally streamlined reference system, while Goldmund hubs can expand connectivity for systems incorporating multiple digital sources.
The result can be remarkably simple: source, Goldmund control/interface electronics where required, and the Theia loudspeakers themselves.
Massive Aluminum Construction
Theia's enclosure is constructed from aluminum and designed according to Goldmund's extensive work in mechanical grounding and resonance management.
The standard silver-gray enclosure uses contrasting surface treatments and matching grilles to create an architectural appearance without visible seams or conventional cabinet joinery.
A black finish is available by special request.
At approximately 62.2 inches tall and 441 pounds per speaker, Theia has both the physical mass and visual presence expected from one of Goldmund's most ambitious loudspeaker systems.
An Entire Goldmund System Within the Loudspeaker
Theia changes the traditional reference-system architecture.
Instead of separately selecting a loudspeaker, crossover, DAC, power amplifier, speaker cable, and then attempting to optimize the interaction between them, Goldmund controls the critical elements as one engineered system.
The DSP knows the behavior of the drivers.
The crossover is implemented digitally.
The amplification is matched to each frequency section.
The Telos amplifiers connect directly to the drivers.
And Leonardo Time Correction addresses the timing behavior of the complete loudspeaker.
It is a fundamentally different approach to building a reference audio system.

Goldmund Theia at The Grid HiFi
The Goldmund Theia Active Stereo Speaker is more than a loudspeaker with amplification added inside. It is a fully integrated Goldmund playback architecture combining four-way loudspeaker engineering, 24-bit/96kHz DSP, Leonardo Time Correction, Proteus LS modeling, and 875 watts of Telos amplification in each enclosure.
For a reference system, that integration removes many of the variables normally involved in matching loudspeakers, power amplifiers, crossovers, and speaker cables while retaining the scale and performance expected from Goldmund's upper-tier designs.
The Grid HiFi can design and commission a complete Goldmund Theia system, including digital sources, Goldmund hubs and processors, power management, networking, system setup, and room integration.
