Synergistic Research PowerCell TWO Power Conditioner

The Synergistic Research PowerCell TWO is a compact, two-outlet active power conditioner designed to provide dedicated AC filtration for high-performance audio components. Building on the PowerCell ONE, it adds a second outlet and larger electromagnetic filtration cells, making it suitable for stereo amplifiers, separate source components and systems where equipment is located away from the main audio rack.

PowerCell TWO combines Synergistic Research's active electromagnetic-cell technology with a permanently attached, actively shielded 10-gauge Foundation SX High Current power cable. Its carbon-fiber enclosure houses an internal Atmosphere X power supply and proprietary UEF treatments.

The two-outlet configuration offers additional flexibility for customers who want to condition multiple components without installing a full-size, multi-outlet power conditioner.

It can connect directly to a suitable wall outlet or supplement an existing Synergistic Research PowerCell system, providing a practical solution for remotely located amplifiers, digital sources and other compatible audio equipment.

Two Outlets for High-Performance Audio Components

PowerCell TWO provides two AC outlets in a compact enclosure, allowing two compatible components to share a dedicated power-conditioning unit.

This configuration is useful for systems with separate source components, an amplifier and preamplifier, or equipment positioned away from the main audio rack.

For example, a customer with a digital streamer and DAC can use PowerCell TWO to provide dedicated conditioning at a secondary equipment location. Another application is a system with power amplifiers positioned near the loudspeakers.

The manufacturer also designed PowerCell TWO to supplement its larger PowerCell conditioners, allowing customers to extend their existing power-distribution systems.

As with any power conditioner, the combined electrical demand of connected components must remain within the unit's published rating and the capacity of the supplying circuit.

Active Electromagnetic Filtration

PowerCell TWO incorporates Synergistic Research's Active Electromagnetic Cell technology.

The manufacturer describes two larger Active EM Cells designed to filter unwanted electrical noise associated with the AC supply, including hot, neutral and ground.

The cable uses 10 AWG Silver Matrix wiring and active shielding. It also receives Synergistic Research's full Blue Fuse conditioning treatment.

The standard captive cable measures 18 inches, with longer custom lengths available for installations that require additional reach.

This arrangement allows PowerCell TWO to be positioned near the components it serves while connecting to an appropriately located wall outlet or compatible upstream conditioner.

For systems with remotely positioned equipment, the captive cable can be specified in a suitable length, potentially avoiding the need for a long run of a more expensive reference-level power cable.

Extend an Existing PowerCell System

PowerCell TWO can be used alongside a compatible multi-outlet Synergistic Research PowerCell.

One application is placing it between an existing PowerCell and components located farther away from the main equipment rack.

Another is using it to extend the reach of a multi-outlet PowerCell when the available wall outlet is some distance from the equipment.

The manufacturer also describes using PowerCell TWO between a wall outlet and a conventional power strip, providing active filtration upstream of the strip.

These configurations offer flexibility when planning power distribution in larger or more complex audio installations.

PowerCell TWO should always be connected in accordance with its electrical ratings and the requirements of the connected equipment. It does not increase the current capacity of an upstream outlet or circuit.
