The Synergistic Research SRX XL AC Power Cable brings the company's active electromagnetic-cell technology into its flagship power-cable architecture. Handcrafted in California, it combines multiple high-purity silver conductor geometries, sealed air dielectrics, active shielding, electromagnetic cells and an integrated grounding system in a single reference-level power cord.

Building on the original SRX, the SRX XL adds two pure-silver 14 AWG high-current conductor geometries and two additional Silver AirString geometries. Synergistic Research developed this expanded architecture for a wide range of high-performance audio components, from DACs and preamplifiers to demanding power amplifiers and PowerCell conditioners.

The cable incorporates fourteen individual cable elements, including six high-current pure-silver conductors, four Silver AirStrings, two pure-silver air ribbons, a copper-mesh Ground Plane and an active copper shield. Two folded electromagnetic cells and a separate active-shielding cell are housed in carbon-fiber cylinders along the cable.

Carbon-fiber connectors with rhodium contacts, selectable Gold and Silver tuning modules, and an integrated Swiss-made power supply complete the design.

Synergistic Research attributes improvements in perceived dynamics, soundstage scale, background quietness and high-frequency refinement to the SRX XL's expanded construction. Fourteen Individual Cable Elements

The SRX XL is constructed from fourteen separate cable elements working together within one AC power cord.

The six high-current conductors are constructed from 14 AWG, 99.9999% pure silver. The four Silver AirStrings use high-purity monocrystalline silver, while the two additional air ribbons incorporate pure-silver conductors.

The primary conductor geometries use sealed PTFE air dielectrics. This construction is intended to minimize the amount of solid dielectric material surrounding the conductors.

The copper-mesh Ground Plane and active copper shield provide additional elements of Synergistic Research's electromagnetic-noise management system.

Compared with the original SRX AC cable, the SRX XL increases the number of high-current silver conductors from four to six and the number of Silver AirStrings from two to four.

 

Active Electromagnetic-Cell Technology

The SRX XL incorporates two SR25 UEF folded electromagnetic cells, constructed using pure-copper foils, graphene-treated circuit boards and PTFE dielectric materials.

Each cell is housed within a carbon-fiber cylinder and forms part of the cable's active shielding architecture.

An additional SR25 active-shielding UEF cell contains a modified Swiss-made DC-bias power supply and SR Quantum Capacitors.

Synergistic Research designed this arrangement to combine power delivery with active electromagnetic conditioning, bringing elements of its PowerCell technology into a flexible AC cable.

Third-Generation UEF Active Shielding

SRX XL incorporates Synergistic Research's third-generation UEF Active Shielding technology.

The shielding system uses a modified Swiss-made power supply, active electromagnetic cells, SR Quantum Capacitors and point-to-point internal wiring.

Graphene-based UEF treatments are applied throughout the cable as part of the manufacturer's approach to managing its electromagnetic environment.

North American configurations are available with IEC 15A or IEC 20A equipment connectors. International wall-plug options include Schuko, UK and Australian configurations.

Carbon-Fiber UEF Tuning Modules

The SRX XL includes interchangeable carbon-fiber tuning modules designed to allow listeners to experiment with the manufacturer's intended tonal presentations.

Synergistic Research recommends allowing the cable to settle into the system for 48–72 hours before comparing the modules.

For systems using several SRX cables, the manufacturer suggests experimenting with one cable at a time to establish the preferred combination.

The Gold and Silver modules operate outside the AC conductor path. A separate Black active module completes the cable's active-bias circuit.

 

Handcrafted and Conditioned in California

Every SRX XL AC cable is handcrafted at Synergistic Research's California facility.

The manufacturing process includes hand-laminated silver ribbons, PTFE film and copper mesh, along with thirty-six point-to-point hand-soldered connections.

The manufacturer also specifies custom Quantum Tunneling high-voltage conditioning and a five-day factory burn-in process.

These treatments are part of Synergistic Research's proprietary manufacturing process. The company's claims about their effects on electrical and audible performance have not been independently established by the cited product information.

Designed for Reference Audio Systems
