High-Current Copper and Pure-Silver AirStrings

The Foundation XL High Current uses three 10 AWG SR Copper conductors insulated with EPDM, complemented by four separate pure-silver AirStrings with PTFE dielectrics.

The four AirStrings represent twice the silver-conductor count of the preceding Foundation SX generation. Synergistic Research developed this revised geometry to improve perceived transient response, dynamic contrast and musical texture while retaining a smooth tonal balance.

The heavier 10 AWG construction distinguishes this model from the standard Foundation XL, which uses 12 AWG copper conductors. Both share the same silver AirString and shielding technologies, allowing customers to select a cable according to their component's requirements.

SRX XL Matrix Shielding and Carbon Tuning Discs

Foundation XL High Current incorporates the graphene-based UEF Matrix Shielding compound developed during Synergistic Research's SRX XL cable program. Its silver-braid shielding is treated with the proprietary compound as part of the manufacturer's approach to managing electromagnetic interference.

Four carbon-fiber UEF Tuning Discs are included, with Gold and Purple treatments offering different manufacturer-defined tuning characteristics. Gold is intended to emphasize harmonic richness and dimensionality, while Purple emphasizes perceived clarity and soundstage extension.

The discs can be positioned on the cable or at selected locations elsewhere in the audio system, giving owners a way to experiment with the presentation of their equipment.

SRX XL High-Voltage Conditioning

After assembly, Foundation XL undergoes the SRX XL High Voltage Conditioning process developed for Synergistic Research's flagship cables. The manufacturer describes this treatment as using high-voltage pulses and extended frequency sweeps applied to the cable and its connections.

Additional manufacturing processes include UEF Blue Treatment and a five-day, two-stage factory burn-in. Each cable is assembled at Synergistic Research's California facility using 4% silver solder.

These proprietary processes complement the Foundation XL's physical conductor and shielding architecture.
