Advanced Silver Conductors for High-Performance Audio Systems

The Synergistic Research Atmosphere SX Excite interconnects combine fifth-generation Tricon Silver Matrix conductors, pure silver Air String geometries and advanced UEF shielding in a cable designed for high-performance stereo systems.

Positioned between the Atmosphere SX Alive and Euphoria interconnects, Excite SX introduces additional silver conductor geometries, SRX-derived high-voltage conditioning and carbon-fiber UEF tuning technology. Available with RCA or balanced XLR terminations, it is designed to connect premium source components, DACs, preamplifiers and power amplifiers.

Each pair is handcrafted in California, with independently constructed cable geometries, silver-braid shielding and an external grounding system that can be integrated with compatible Synergistic Research grounding accessories.

Fifth-Generation Tricon Silver Matrix Geometry

The Excite SX combines Tricon Silver Matrix conductors with separate pure silver Air Strings. This hybrid construction is central to the cable's design, using multiple parallel geometries rather than relying on a single conventional conductor arrangement.

The RCA version incorporates two Tricon geometries and two pure silver Air String geometries. The balanced XLR version doubles that arrangement to provide four of each.

Synergistic Research uses monocrystalline conductors and PTFE insulation within the Tricon assemblies, with a separate ground conductor isolated from the shield. The company develops these geometries to manage the electrical and mechanical interactions that can affect an analog audio signal.

Pure Silver Air String Conductors

Excite SX incorporates handmade Air String conductors manufactured from 99.9999% pure monocrystalline silver.

Each silver conductor is housed within a sealed air dielectric, minimizing direct contact with solid insulating materials. The RCA configuration uses two Air String geometries, while the balanced XLR configuration uses four.

These conductors operate alongside the Tricon Silver Matrix assemblies to create the cable's composite signal geometry. Synergistic Research developed this arrangement as part of its approach to improving resolution, tonal density and spatial presentation in premium analog systems.

Atmosphere SX Level 3 UEF Matrix Shielding

Electrical interference from nearby components, power cables and the surrounding environment can affect sensitive analog audio connections.

The Atmosphere SX Excite uses silver-braid shielding together with Synergistic Research's Level 3 UEF Matrix treatment. Two proprietary UEF coatings incorporating graphene are applied to the cable, connectors and grounding structure.

The manufacturer also incorporates carbon-fiber UEF tuning discs at selected locations along the shield and inside the connectors. These treatments are intended to influence the cable's electromagnetic environment and mechanical behavior.

Synergistic Research associates its UEF technology with a lower perceived noise floor and greater musical detail. Audible results will depend on the connected equipment, installation and listening environment.

SRX-Derived High-Voltage Conditioning

Excite SX receives the long-duration, high-frequency conditioning process originally developed for Synergistic Research's flagship SRX cable range.

The company applies proprietary high-voltage treatments to the completed cable and its connections, followed by a secondary conditioning process developed for its Blue Fuse products.

Every pair also undergoes a five-day, two-stage burn-in procedure before leaving the factory.

These processes form part of the manufacturer's cable-production methodology and distinguish Excite SX from conventional interconnect construction.

Carbon-Fiber UEF Tuning

The Excite SX incorporates internal carbon-fiber UEF tuning discs and an external tuning-module connection.

The included tuning module allows listeners to experiment with the cable's presentation according to their system and musical preferences. Synergistic Research describes its tuning approach as a way to adjust perceived warmth, fluidity and resolution without changing the primary cable geometry.

This provides an additional system-matching option for listeners who want to evaluate the interaction between their interconnects and the rest of their audio components.

Floating Shields and External Grounding

Excite SX features Synergistic Research's UEF Ground Plane Technology, which allows the cable shields to be grounded separately from the connected audio components.

The included grounding connection can be used with a suitable grounding arrangement. For systems incorporating Synergistic Research accessories, the shields can also be connected to an optional Ground Block or Active Ground Block.

Separating the shield-grounding arrangement from the signal connection provides additional flexibility when configuring a complex system with multiple source components, preamplifiers and power amplifiers.

RCA and Balanced XLR Configurations

Both configurations are designed for premium analog audio systems. Choose RCA or XLR according to the connections and circuit topology of your components rather than assuming one termination will always produce better results.
