Overview
StormAudio PA 8 Ultra MK3 8-Channel Power Amplifier
8 × 200W into 8Ω • 8 × 400W into 4Ω • 4 × 800W Bridged • Pascal Audio Class D Technology • UMAC Amplification • UREC Power Supplies • StormMonitoring • 3U Rack Design
Complimentary White Glove Delivery • Expert Private Cinema Design
The StormAudio PA 8 Ultra MK3 is a high-performance eight-channel power amplifier engineered for reference home theaters and luxury private cinemas. Delivering 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 400 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with all eight channels driven, the PA 8 Ultra MK3 provides substantial power reserves for demanding multichannel loudspeaker systems.
For installations requiring greater output, the amplifier supports Bridge Tied Load (BTL) operation, combining eight channels into four high-powered outputs delivering 800 watts per channel.
Developed in collaboration with Danish amplification specialist Pascal Audio, the PA 8 Ultra MK3 combines proprietary UMAC Class D technology, four independent UREC power supplies, balanced XLR connectivity and StormAudio's advanced network monitoring capabilities.
Its compact 3U rack-mountable chassis makes it an ideal amplification solution for professionally engineered Dolby Atmos, DTS and immersive private cinema systems.
Eight Channels of Reference Amplification
The PA 8 Ultra MK3 provides eight independent amplification channels, each delivering substantial continuous output.
Standard 8-Channel Configuration:
-
200W RMS per channel into 8Ω
-
400W RMS per channel into 4Ω
-
All channels driven at 0.1% THD+N
-
26dB amplifier gain
This configuration provides the flexibility to power front, surround, rear surround and overhead loudspeakers within a sophisticated multichannel installation.
Multiple PA 8 Ultra MK3 amplifiers can be combined for larger systems requiring additional amplification channels.
800-Watt Bridged Amplification
For demanding loudspeakers requiring increased power, the PA 8 Ultra MK3 supports four-channel Bridge Tied Load operation.
Bridged Configuration:
-
4 × 800W RMS into 8Ω
-
4 × 800W RMS into 4Ω
-
All bridged channels driven at 0.1% THD+N
-
32dB amplifier gain
This capability makes the amplifier suitable for high-output front-channel loudspeakers, demanding cinema speakers and compatible passive subwoofers.
The PA 8 Ultra MK3 can also accommodate combinations of standard and bridged channels, providing additional flexibility when designing a complete cinema amplification system.
Pascal Audio UMAC Class D Technology
The PA 8 Ultra MK3 incorporates UMAC Class D amplification technology, developed through StormAudio's collaboration with Pascal Audio.
This architecture combines high power efficiency with excellent dynamic range, low distortion and substantial current delivery.
The amplifier achieves a specified signal-to-noise ratio greater than 115dB, total harmonic distortion plus noise below 0.005% at 1 watt and damping factor greater than 400.
Its wide frequency response and high-current output capability support precise reproduction of demanding movie soundtracks and multichannel music.
Four Independent UREC Power Supplies
The MK3 generation incorporates four independent UREC power supply sections, providing up to approximately 3kW of instantaneous power capacity.
These advanced power supplies respond rapidly to changing electrical demands, supporting dynamic output during complex cinematic passages.
This architecture is designed to maintain stable performance when multiple channels simultaneously reproduce demanding soundtrack information.
StormMonitoring Remote System Management
The PA 8 Ultra MK3 incorporates StormMonitoring, allowing professional installers to access amplifier operating information through compatible StormAudio ISP processors.
Using the processor's web-based interface, technicians can monitor important system information locally or remotely, including:
-
Amplifier temperature and cooling fan operation
-
Power and mute status
-
Protection and fault conditions
-
Amplifier identification and network status
This functionality is especially valuable in custom private cinemas where amplification equipment is installed in a dedicated rack or remote equipment room.
Balanced XLR Inputs and Professional Integration
Eight balanced XLR inputs provide high-quality analog connectivity with compatible immersive audio processors.
The amplifier also includes substantial three-way speaker binding posts, Ethernet connectivity and trigger input/output connections for coordinated system power management.
When paired with a StormAudio ISP processor, the PA 8 Ultra MK3 forms part of a fully integrated cinema platform supporting professional configuration, calibration and monitoring.
Advanced Protection and Cooling
The PA 8 Ultra MK3 incorporates electronically controlled ventilation and thermal monitoring to maintain reliable operation.
Protection systems address overheating, overcurrent, overvoltage and DC fault conditions.
Its rack-friendly design and removable mounting ears allow integration into professional equipment racks or suitable audio cabinets with appropriate ventilation.
