Overview
Italian Craftsmanship. A Bigger Stage for Your Music.
The Sonus faber Sonetto V G2 brings flagship-inspired acoustic technology, elegant Italian design, and substantial full-range performance together in a beautifully proportioned floorstanding loudspeaker.
Part of the second-generation Sonetto Collection, this three-way speaker incorporates innovations developed for Sonus faber's flagship Suprema system, including the distinctive Camelia midrange driver and a dedicated cork acoustic chamber.
A Damped Apex Dome tweeter reveals fine musical detail, while dual 6.5-inch woofers provide the foundation for powerful, controlled bass. The redesigned lute-shaped cabinet combines natural wood, leather, and a substantial concrete base for a refined appearance and improved mechanical stability.
Handcrafted in Vicenza, Italy, Sonetto V G2 is designed for listeners who want the scale of a serious floorstanding loudspeaker without overwhelming their living space.
Flagship Technology Finds a New Home
The Sonetto G2 Collection marks an important evolution for Sonus faber. It brings acoustic developments from the company's Suprema project into a more accessible family of loudspeakers.
Sonetto V G2 incorporates a dedicated Camelia midrange driver, a specially engineered cork chamber, and updated driver technology.
Its three-way architecture allows the tweeter, midrange, and woofers to concentrate on separate frequency ranges, supporting a cohesive presentation across the musical spectrum.
With a specified frequency response of 35 Hz to 40 kHz, Sonetto V G2 is engineered to reproduce everything from delicate instrumental textures to substantial low-frequency energy.
Camelia Midrange: Inspired by Nature
At the heart of Sonetto V G2 is a 6.5-inch Camelia midrange driver.
Originally developed for Suprema, its unusual diaphragm geometry takes inspiration from the five petals of a camellia flower.
Unlike a conventional circular cone, the Camelia's distinctive shape is designed to reduce unwanted resonances. An aluminum phase plug helps optimize frequency response and clarity, both directly in front of the speaker and at off-axis listening positions.
The diaphragm is left unpainted as part of Sonus faber's acoustic design.
This dedicated driver reproduces the frequencies that give vocals, piano, strings, and other acoustic instruments much of their natural character.
A Dedicated Cork Acoustic Chamber
Sonetto V G2 houses its tweeter and midrange assembly within a specially designed cork acoustic chamber.
Inspired by the Suprema system, this chamber uses cork's damping properties and an organic internal shape to manage sound energy behind the drivers.
Rather than relying on conventional parallel internal walls, the enclosure is shaped to control sound propagation and reduce unwanted resonances.
The goal is improved midrange resolution and a more natural presentation of voices and instruments.
Damped Apex Dome Tweeter
The 1.1-inch extended-frequency tweeter features Sonus faber's Damped Apex Dome (D.A.D.) Arrow Point technology.
A copper shorting ring is incorporated into the tweeter's motor design, helping support refined high-frequency reproduction.
Engineered to extend beyond the conventional audible frequency range, the tweeter is designed to preserve the subtle details that give recordings their sense of space and realism.
Dual 6.5-Inch Woofers
Two dedicated 6.5-inch woofers provide Sonetto V G2's low-frequency foundation.
Their paper-pulp sandwich cones are paired with aluminum demodulation rings and distinctive flower-patterned surrounds.
The woofer system operates in a downward-vented enclosure, supporting low-frequency extension while allowing the Camelia driver to focus on the critical midrange.
Whether reproducing an acoustic bass, a kick drum, or the weight of a full orchestra, Sonetto V G2 is designed to combine bass extension with clarity and control.
Italian Design with a Solid Foundation
Sonetto V G2 carries forward Sonus faber's signature lute-shaped cabinet, an elegant form designed to help manage internal resonances.
Its wood veneer features a distinctive 45-degree grain pattern inspired by the company's more prestigious loudspeaker collections.
Leather detailing adds a luxurious finishing touch, while the redesigned concrete base increases stability and helps manage unwanted vibrations.
The combination of natural materials, sculptural proportions, and thoughtful engineering reflects Sonus faber's belief that a loudspeaker should be as beautiful to live with as it is rewarding to hear.
