Overview

Room-Filling Sound. Beautifully Compact.

The Sonus faber Sonetto II G2 brings the richness of Italian loudspeaker craftsmanship to a bookshelf design that refuses to sound small.

As the larger standmount model in the second-generation Sonetto Collection, Sonetto II G2 pairs a 1.1-inch Damped Apex Dome tweeter with a substantial 6.5-inch midwoofer. Its carefully engineered enclosure delivers a manufacturer-specified frequency response extending down to 42 Hz, making it a compelling foundation for a serious two-channel music system.

Behind its elegant exterior, Sonetto II incorporates Sonus faber's Intono technology, an optimized bass-reflex system, and custom-engineered drivers. Natural wood, leather, and concrete complete a design that feels equally at home in a dedicated listening room or an elegant living space.

Handcrafted in Vicenza, Italy, Sonetto II G2 combines traditional artistry with modern acoustic engineering.

A Bookshelf Speaker with Serious Ambitions

Sonetto II G2 offers an alternative to floorstanding speakers for listeners who want substantial performance without dedicating as much floor space to their system.

Its two-way architecture integrates a high-frequency tweeter with a 6.5-inch midwoofer, providing a broad frequency range from a relatively compact cabinet.

With 87 dB sensitivity, 4-ohm nominal impedance, and a recommended amplifier power range of 30–200 watts, Sonetto II is designed to partner with quality integrated amplifiers and separate amplification.

The result is a versatile loudspeaker suited to everything from intimate acoustic recordings to energetic rock and orchestral music.

Damped Apex Dome Tweeter

Sonus faber Sonetto II G2 - Club Hifi

The 1.1-inch extended-frequency tweeter incorporates Sonus faber's Damped Apex Dome (D.A.D.) Arrow Point technology.

Its silk-dome construction and copper shorting ring are designed to support refined high-frequency reproduction, revealing subtle musical details without sacrificing the natural tonal character associated with Sonus faber.

The tweeter's extended response contributes to the speaker's specified upper frequency limit of 40 kHz.

Custom-Engineered 6.5-Inch Midwoofer

A substantial 6.5-inch midwoofer handles both the critical midrange and lower frequencies.

The driver incorporates an aluminum demodulation ring and an organic basket structure. Its asymmetrical, nature-inspired design provides structural support while promoting airflow around the driver.

From the warmth of a vocalist to the body of a piano or acoustic guitar, the midwoofer is engineered to reproduce the frequencies that give music its natural character.

A crossover operating at 3,100 Hz integrates the midwoofer with the tweeter.

Intono Technology: A Quieter Cabinet

One of Sonetto II G2's distinctive engineering features is Sonus faber's Intono technology.

Implemented in the Sonetto I and II, Intono is positioned between the bass-reflex port and the internal acoustic chamber. Its purpose is to reduce unwanted frequencies and distortion inside the cabinet.

By controlling internal acoustic energy, Intono helps create a quieter enclosure and supports cleaner sound reproduction.

It's an example of how Sonus faber applies sophisticated acoustic engineering even to its more compact loudspeakers.

Optimized Bass-Reflex Design

Sonetto II G2 features a front-vented midwoofer enclosure with a redesigned bass-reflex system.

Sonus faber developed the port to improve placement flexibility and manage airflow and resonance across different room configurations.

While every loudspeaker benefits from thoughtful positioning, this design gives Sonetto II additional flexibility when arranging a stereo system in a living room, office, or dedicated listening space.

Its specified 42 Hz low-frequency extension is particularly impressive for a standmount speaker of this size.

Italian Design with a Solid Foundation

Sonus faber - Sonetto II G2 - The Source AV

Sonetto II G2 features Sonus faber's signature lute-shaped cabinet, combining sculptural elegance with an enclosure geometry designed to help control internal resonances.

Natural wood and leather reflect the company's longstanding commitment to traditional materials, while a concrete element adds mass and stability to the design.

The result is a loudspeaker that looks like a carefully crafted piece of furniture rather than a conventional rectangular speaker box.

Every Sonetto G2 loudspeaker is crafted at Sonus faber's headquarters in Vicenza, Italy.
