Overview
Sonus faber Sonetto I G2 – Bookshelf Speakers
Small in Size. Rich in Character.
The Sonus faber Sonetto I G2 brings the artistry of Italian loudspeaker design to a beautifully compact bookshelf speaker. As the smallest model in the second-generation Sonetto Collection, it combines refined craftsmanship, advanced acoustic engineering, and Sonus faber's signature Natural Sound philosophy in a design made for smaller listening spaces.
A 1.1-inch Damped Apex Dome tweeter and custom-engineered 5-inch midwoofer work together to reproduce music with clarity, detail, and natural tonal balance. Behind the elegant exterior, Sonus faber's Intono technology and an optimized front-facing bass-reflex port help manage unwanted cabinet resonances and support low-frequency performance.
With its sculptural lute-shaped cabinet, premium wood finishes, leather accents, and concrete base, Sonetto I G2 is designed to look every bit as beautiful as it sounds.
Compact Design. Serious HiFi Performance.
Sonetto I G2 is designed for listeners who want a high-quality stereo system without the size of traditional floorstanding loudspeakers.
Its two-way architecture combines a dedicated tweeter and midwoofer in a carefully engineered enclosure. The optimized front-facing reflex port offers greater flexibility when positioning the speakers in a living room, office, or dedicated listening space.
With a specified frequency response of 52 Hz to 40 kHz, Sonetto I G2 delivers broad musical bandwidth from a cabinet measuring just 14.8 inches tall.
Damped Apex Dome Tweeter
Sonetto I G2 features a 1.1-inch extended-frequency tweeter incorporating Sonus faber's Damped Apex Dome (D.A.D.) Arrow Point technology.
A copper shorting ring is incorporated into the tweeter's motor system to support refined high-frequency reproduction.
From the delicate shimmer of cymbals to the ambience of a live recording, the tweeter is engineered to reveal subtle musical information while maintaining the natural character associated with Sonus faber.
Custom-Engineered 5-Inch Midwoofer
The 5-inch midwoofer is designed specifically for the Sonetto G2 Collection.
Its distinctive flower-patterned rubber surround takes inspiration from natural forms. The asymmetrical geometry is engineered to disrupt circular vibration modes, improving linearity and sound dispersion.
An aluminum demodulation ring is incorporated into the driver's motor system.
Together, these design elements support natural reproduction of vocals, acoustic instruments, and the lower frequencies that give music its body and warmth.
Intono Technology: Controlling the Sound Inside
One of Sonetto I G2's most important engineering features is Sonus faber's Intono technology.
Positioned between the bass-reflex port and the internal acoustic chamber, Intono is designed to reduce unwanted frequencies and distortion inside the cabinet.
By managing internal acoustic energy, the system helps create a quieter enclosure, allowing the drivers to reproduce music with greater clarity.
Intono is incorporated into both Sonetto I and Sonetto II, bringing sophisticated cabinet engineering to the collection's compact bookshelf models.
Optimized Front-Facing Bass Reflex
The Sonetto I G2 features an optimized front-facing bass-reflex port designed to improve placement flexibility.
Its carefully developed airflow and resonance characteristics help the speaker maintain consistent performance across a variety of room arrangements.
Whether placed on dedicated stands or integrated into a thoughtfully designed living space, Sonetto I G2 offers flexibility without abandoning the acoustic principles behind a serious stereo loudspeaker.
Italian Craftsmanship in Every Detail
Sonetto I G2 incorporates the signature lute-shaped cabinet that has become synonymous with Sonus faber.
Its curved enclosure is designed to help control internal resonances while creating an elegant, sculptural appearance.
Premium open-pore wood finishes showcase the natural texture and grain of the material, while leather accents provide a refined finishing touch.
A concrete base adds structural stability and helps manage unwanted vibrations.
The result is a loudspeaker that brings together traditional Italian craftsmanship and modern acoustic engineering in a compact, beautifully proportioned design.
Available Finishes
Sonetto I G2 is available in three factory finishes. Each combines its cabinet finish with leather detailing and a concrete base.
Walnut Wood
Warm, natural wood grain with timeless Italian character.
Wenge Wood
Deep wood tones for a sophisticated, understated appearance.
Black Lacquer
A sleek lacquered finish suited to contemporary interiors.
Optional Sonetto Speaker Stands
Sonus faber offers dedicated Sonetto stands designed for both Sonetto I and Sonetto II.
Constructed from aluminum with a concrete base, the stands provide a stable platform while complementing the speakers' appearance.
Each stand measures 687 × 355 × 406 mm and weighs 6.5 kg.
The speakers and stands are sold separately.
