10 Inches of Long-Throw Bass

The Gravis II uses a 260 mm / 10-inch very long-throw woofer with a treated paper cone and wide rubber surround.

Rather than relying solely on the active driver, Sonus faber combines it with a second 260 mm long-throw passive radiator. The passive radiator uses a treated paper cone and wide rubber surround and is positioned to reinforce the lowest frequencies without requiring a conventional port.

The result is a passive-radiator bass-reflex design capable of reaching 25 Hz at -6 dB while maintaining a relatively compact enclosure.

Class AB Power

Gravis II incorporates a high-linearity Class AB amplifier rated at 350 watts RMS and 700 watts peak.

That combination of long-throw driver area and substantial amplification gives the Gravis II the ability to add real weight to music while also providing the impact required for home theater.

Built for Music and Home Theater

One of the most useful aspects of Gravis II is its flexible integration.

The rear panel provides:

• LFE input via mono RCA
• Line input via mono RCA
• High-Level input via 4-pole Neutrik Speakon

Separate Master and LFE volume controls allow the subwoofer to be calibrated independently for music and home theater.

The High-Level connection can be used to blend the Gravis II naturally with the main loudspeakers for two-channel music, while the LFE connection provides straightforward integration with an AV processor or receiver.

Precise System Matching

Gravis II provides the controls needed to properly integrate the subwoofer rather than simply turning up the bass.

The crossover can be continuously adjusted from 30 to 120 Hz with a 24 dB/octave slope, while a 0/180-degree phase inversion switch helps compensate for phase differences between the subwoofer and main speakers.

An automatic on/off function can also be selected or disabled.

These adjustments make it possible to tailor the Gravis II to the main loudspeakers, listening position and room rather than accepting a one-size-fits-all setup.
