The Silent Angel Munich MU is a high-performance network music streamer combining an integrated ESS SABRE DAC, six-core processing, precision clocking and extensive digital connectivity in a sophisticated aluminum chassis. Designed for reference two-channel audio systems, it offers the flexibility to operate as a complete streaming source with analog outputs or as a dedicated digital transport paired with an external DAC.

The Munich MU supports TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, DLNA and internet radio, with playback and music library management through Silent Angel's VitOS Orbiter app. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs allow direct connection to an integrated amplifier, preamplifier or compatible active loudspeakers.

For systems incorporating a separate DAC, the MU provides USB audio, AES/EBU, coaxial and I²S digital outputs. Its dedicated 25MHz external clock input also allows integration with compatible precision master clocks, including the Silent Angel Genesis GX.

Internally, Silent Angel combines a six-core processor, precision TCXO clocking, specialized power circuitry and electromagnetic interference management. A double-layer aluminum chassis provides structural rigidity and additional isolation between the digital and analog sections.

The Munich MU can serve two distinct roles within a high-end audio system. Its integrated ESS SABRE DAC and analog outputs make it a complete streaming source that connects directly to an amplifier or compatible active speakers.

For listeners using an external DAC, the MU offers several digital connection options. Its USB audio output supports PCM up to 768kHz and DSD256, while its AES/EBU, coaxial and I²S outputs support PCM up to 384kHz and DSD128.

This flexibility allows the Munich MU to remain part of a digital audio system even as other components are upgraded.

Precision Clocking and Expandable Storage

The Munich MU incorporates a high-precision TCXO clock with dedicated supporting circuitry. Its external 25MHz clock input provides an upgrade path for systems using a compatible master clock.

An internal M.2 NVMe SSD slot supports up to 4TB of storage, allowing locally stored music to be managed alongside network libraries and streaming services. USB connections provide additional external storage options.

The MU's internal construction includes carefully selected electrical components, EMI absorption materials and shielding between digital and analog circuitry. These measures are intended to limit unwanted electrical interference within the streamer.
