Dual-Zone Architecture for High-Resolution Streaming

Unlike conventional 16-port network switches, the Bonn N16 LPS incorporates two individual eight-port Gigabit Ethernet subsystems. Each zone features its own linear-powered temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO), designed to improve clock precision and reduce timing-related interference.

Two connection configurations provide flexibility:

• Parallel Connection: Connect both zones independently to an upstream router or switch, separating audio components from computers and other household network devices.

• Series Connection: Daisy-chain the two zones, allowing network traffic to pass through the first subsystem before reaching the second zone dedicated to sensitive audio equipment.

Integrated Linear Power Supply

The Bonn N16 LPS incorporates Silent Angel's advanced linear power supply technology, eliminating the need for an external power adapter. Its internal toroidal transformer, power management circuitry and fast-response MOSFET components are designed to maintain stable power delivery while minimizing electrical interference.

High-permeability EMI absorbers provide additional protection against electromagnetic interference within the switch, creating a controlled electrical environment for network audio transmission.

Precision TCXO Clocking

Each of the N16 LPS's two network zones incorporates a dedicated, linear-powered TCXO clock module. Silent Angel specifies these oscillators as being up to 50 times more precise than conventional crystal clocks.

By improving clock stability and addressing timing-related interference within the network switch, the N16 LPS is designed to support consistent data transmission in demanding digital audio applications.
