Overview

Rotel A8 Integrated Amplifier

The Rotel A8 Integrated Amplifier is a straightforward, all-analog Class AB amplifier built for listeners who want genuine hi-fi performance without paying for digital features they may never use. It delivers 30 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 40 watts per channel into 4 ohms, powered by a high-current Rotel-built toroidal transformer. Rotel

With three RCA line-level inputs, a dedicated Moving Magnet phono stage, front-panel headphone output, tone controls, remote control, and 5-way speaker binding posts, the A8 provides the essentials for a clean two-channel system centered around vinyl and analog sources. Rotel

Rotel Class AB Amplification

The A8 uses a traditional Class AB output stage rather than a compact switching-amplifier design. Rotel pairs the output transistors with an in-house manufactured high-current toroidal transformer, providing the power supply foundation for its 30-watt-per-channel 8-ohm rating and 40-watt-per-channel output into 4 ohms. Rotel

Total harmonic distortion is specified at less than 0.03% from 20 Hz–20 kHz, with intermodulation distortion also below 0.03%. Damping factor is rated at 80 into 8 ohms. Rotel

Moving Magnet Phono Stage

A dedicated Moving Magnet phono input allows a compatible turntable to connect directly to the A8 without an external phono preamplifier.

The phono stage is specified for 2.5 mV input sensitivity, 40k-ohm input impedance, 50 mV overload capacity, and 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency response at -0.5/+0 dB. Rotel

Three Analog RCA Inputs

In addition to phono, the A8 provides three line-level RCA inputs for sources such as a CD player, streamer, tuner, external DAC, or other analog component.

This is deliberately an analog integrated amplifier—there is no internal DAC, Bluetooth, HDMI, or network streaming section. That makes the A8 especially attractive for a simple system where the source component already provides analog output. Rotel

Bass, Treble & Balance Controls

Dedicated front-panel Bass, Treble, and Balance controls allow quick adjustments without navigating menus or an app. Bass and treble adjustment is specified at ±6 dB at 100 Hz and 10 kHz. Rotel

The volume indicator can also be personalized with a choice of red, green, blue, or purple illumination. Rotel

Headphone Output & Remote Control

A front-mounted 1/8-inch headphone output provides private listening without requiring a separate headphone amplifier.

The supplied IR remote control handles power, volume, and source selection from the listening position and also includes transport controls for compatible Rotel CD players. Rotel

Slim Full-Width Chassis

At only 2 7/8 inches tall, the A8 has a notably low-profile chassis while retaining traditional full-width hi-fi proportions. It is available in Black or Silver, making it easy to match with other Rotel components. Rotel
