Rotel DX-5 Integrated Amplifier

The Rotel DX-5 Integrated Amplifier packs a complete high-performance stereo system into an unusually compact chassis. Measuring just 8.5 inches wide, the DX-5 combines Rotel Class AB amplification, a premium ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M 32-bit DAC, HDMI ARC, PC-USB, Bluetooth aptX HD and AAC, analog and digital inputs, a subwoofer output, headphone output, and Roon Tested compatibility. Delivering 25 watts per channel into 8 ohms and up to 33 watts per channel into 4 ohms, the DX-5 is designed for desktop audio, smaller listening rooms, premium office systems, and space-conscious two-channel installations where component size should not dictate sound quality. Rotel

Classic Rotel Class AB Amplification

Rather than moving to a compact switching amplifier, Rotel built the DX-5 around a traditional Class AB output stage powered by an in-house wound high-current toroidal transformer.

The amplifier is rated at 25W per channel FTC, 25W per channel continuous into 8 ohms, and a maximum 33W per channel into 4 ohms. A damping factor of 140 provides solid electrical control of compatible loudspeakers. Rotel

ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M DAC

Digital conversion is handled by the ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M, giving the DX-5 a serious digital foundation despite its compact dimensions.

Its PC-USB input supports PCM up to 32-bit/384 kHz, DSD up to 11.2 MHz (DSD256) and DoP up to 5.6 MHz. Coaxial and optical S/PDIF inputs support PCM up to 24-bit/192 kHz. The DX-5 is also Roon Tested. Rotel

HDMI ARC for TV Audio

The inclusion of HDMI ARC with CEC makes the DX-5 especially useful as the center of a compact music and entertainment system.

Connect a compatible television through HDMI ARC and use the DX-5 and a quality pair of stereo speakers for TV, movies, concerts and streaming content—without adding a full-size A/V receiver. Rotel

Bluetooth aptX HD & AAC

For convenient wireless playback, the DX-5 includes Bluetooth with aptX HD and AAC support. This gives phones, tablets and computers an easy wireless path into the system while higher-resolution sources can use USB, coaxial or optical connections. Rotel

Subwoofer & Headphone Connectivity

A dedicated subwoofer output makes it easy to build a compact 2.1-channel system, extending low-frequency performance beyond what smaller bookshelf or desktop speakers can provide.

The front panel also includes a 1/4-inch (6.35 mm) headphone jack, allowing the DX-5 to serve both loudspeaker and personal-audio systems from a single compact component. Rotel

Full-Color Display & Compact Chassis

At only 8.5 × 3 × 10 inches, the DX-5 occupies roughly half the width of a traditional hi-fi component while retaining the build and visual character associated with Rotel electronics.

A full-color TFT display, supplied remote control, and availability in black or silver complete a design intended to work equally well on a desktop, credenza, media console or dedicated audio rack. Rotel
