Overview
Rotel A14MKII Integrated Amplifier
The Rotel A14MKII Integrated Amplifier is the flagship of Rotel’s 14 Series, combining 80 watts per channel of Class AB amplification with a premium Texas Instruments 32-bit/384 kHz DAC, Moving Magnet phono stage, PC-USB, optical and coaxial digital inputs, aptX HD and AAC Bluetooth, preamp output, dual A/B speaker outputs, and Roon Tested compatibility. Rotel
Its power supply is built around an oversized Rotel-manufactured toroidal transformer and four high-efficiency slit-foil bulk storage capacitors. The A14MKII delivers 80 watts per channel continuously into 8 ohms and up to 150 watts per channel into 4 ohms, giving it considerably more headroom for demanding bookshelf and floorstanding loudspeakers. Rotel
150-Watt Class AB Amplification
Rotel’s Class AB output stage is rated at 80W per channel into 8 ohms and a maximum 150W per channel into 4 ohms. The current U.S. specification also lists an FTC rating of 92W per channel into 8 ohms. Rotel
Total harmonic distortion is rated below 0.018%, intermodulation distortion below 0.03%, and damping factor at 220, providing strong electrical control over connected loudspeakers. Rotel
Rotel-Built Toroidal Power Supply
The A14MKII uses an oversized toroidal transformer manufactured in-house by Rotel, supported by an array of four slit-foil bulk storage capacitors.
This substantial linear power supply provides the current reserve required for dynamic musical passages while helping maintain a low-noise electrical environment for the amplifier and source circuitry. Rotel
Texas Instruments 32-Bit/384 kHz DAC
A redesigned digital section uses a premium Texas Instruments 32-bit/384 kHz DAC, with Rotel individually selecting and tuning critical components throughout the signal path. Rotel
The asynchronous PC-USB input supports USB Audio Class 2.0 up to 32-bit/384 kHz, while optical and coaxial S/PDIF inputs accept LPCM up to 24-bit/192 kHz. The A14MKII also supports MQA/MQA Studio through PC-USB and is Roon Tested. Rotel
Moving Magnet Phono Stage
A dedicated Moving Magnet phono input allows a compatible turntable to connect directly to the A14MKII.
The MM stage provides 3.4 mV sensitivity, 47kΩ input impedance and 50 mV overload capability, with frequency response specified from 20 Hz–20 kHz ±0.5 dB. Rotel
aptX HD & AAC Bluetooth
Integrated Bluetooth with aptX HD and AAC provides convenient high-quality wireless playback from compatible smartphones, tablets and computers. Rotel
For critical digital listening, the A14MKII’s PC-USB, coaxial and optical inputs provide higher-resolution wired connections.
Flexible Analog & Digital Connectivity
The A14MKII accommodates a broad range of sources, with dedicated Phono, CD, Tuner, AUX 1 and AUX 2 analog inputs, plus optical, coaxial, PC-USB and Bluetooth digital connectivity. A preamp output allows connection to an external power amplifier or other compatible equipment. Rotel
Dual 5-way A/B speaker outputs provide relay-controlled speaker selection and can support a second speaker zone. Rotel
Custom Installation & Control
For integrated audio systems, the A14MKII provides Ethernet, RS232, 12V trigger, external IR and Rotel Link connectivity. Rotel also provides Control4 drivers for the A14MKII, making it suitable for professionally integrated systems. Rotel
The front-panel graphic display provides volume, source and audio-stream information, while bass and treble controls offer ±10 dB adjustment with a bypass mode for a direct signal path. Rotel
