Ortofon MC X10 Moving Coil Phono Cartridge
Elliptical diamond stylus. Pure silver coils. Precision moving coil performance.
The Ortofon MC X10 brings the engineering of the MC X Series to an accessible high-performance moving coil cartridge. Its elliptical diamond stylus and aluminum cantilever are designed for accurate groove tracking, while high-purity silver coils and an optimized magnet system preserve fine musical detail.
A honeycomb-structured stainless-steel frame provides mechanical stability, and Ortofon's custom-developed rubber suspension helps control unwanted vibration.
The MC X10 delivers 0.4 mV output and is designed for use with a compatible moving coil phono stage.

A newly developed magnetic structure integrates a one-piece pole cylinder with the rear magnet yoke to improve magnetic efficiency.

Compatibility & Installation
The MC X10 uses standard ½-inch mounting and requires a compatible tonearm.
Unlike Ortofon's 2M moving magnet cartridges, the MC X10 produces a low 0.4 mV output. It should be connected to a suitable moving coil phono stage or an appropriate step-up transformer and phono preamplifier combination.
Ortofon recommends a load resistance greater than 50 ohms. The correct setting will depend on the capabilities of your phono stage and system configuration.
