Ortofon MC Quintet Blue Moving Coil Phono Cartridge

The Ortofon MC Quintet Blue takes the Quintet Series beyond the Red with a Nude Elliptical diamond stylus mounted directly to an aluminum cantilever. This design reduces the mass of the stylus assembly, supporting precise groove tracking and improved retrieval of musical detail.
Its moving coil generator features 99.99% pure silver wire and a neodymium magnet system. Ortofon describes the Quintet Blue as delivering a smooth, balanced presentation with greater space, depth, and detail than the Quintet Red.
A durable thermoplastic body, aluminum mounting frame, and threaded mounting holes make installation straightforward on compatible turntables.

Compatibility & Installation
The MC Quintet Blue features standard ½-inch mounting and threaded holes for secure installation. The included 5 mm and 7 mm screws accommodate different headshell thicknesses.
Its 0.5 mV output requires a compatible moving coil phono stage or an appropriately matched step-up transformer and phono preamplifier. Ortofon recommends a load impedance greater than 20 ohms and a tracking force of 2.3 grams.
