The DALI OPTICON VOKAL MK2 is a high-performance center channel speaker engineered to deliver clear dialogue, natural vocals and detailed cinematic sound. Designed to complement the entire OPTICON MK2 loudspeaker range, it combines a 6½-inch wood-fibre bass/midrange driver, DALI's patented Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC) technology and a hybrid tweeter module in a cabinet designed for flexible home theater installation.

Its front-facing twin bass reflex ports allow placement beneath a television, near a wall or within suitable AV furniture without requiring the rear clearance of a conventional rear-ported speaker. Whether paired with compact OPTICON bookshelf speakers or the flagship OPTICON 8 MK2 floorstanding speakers, the VOKAL MK2 provides a tonally consistent foundation for an immersive surround sound system.

6½-Inch Wood-Fibre Driver with Patented SMC Technology

The OPTICON VOKAL MK2 features a 6½-inch bass/midrange driver constructed from DALI's proprietary fine paper-pulp and reinforced wood-fibre composite.

Its lightweight, rigid diaphragm works with a low-loss surround and spider suspension to reproduce subtle vocal details and complex soundtrack passages accurately.

The driver's magnetic motor system incorporates DALI's patented Soft Magnetic Compound technology. Its SMC pole piece reduces magnetic hysteresis and eddy currents, helping minimize distortion, particularly third-order distortion.

For center channel applications, this low-distortion design is especially valuable when reproducing dialogue, where vocal intelligibility and natural tonal balance are essential.

DALI Hybrid Tweeter Module

The OPTICON VOKAL MK2 incorporates DALI's hybrid tweeter module, combining a 29mm soft-dome tweeter with a custom 17 × 45mm planar high-frequency driver.

Both drivers are mounted on a rigid cast-aluminum faceplate designed to provide mechanical stability and control high-frequency dispersion. The soft dome reproduces the primary treble range, while the planar element extends high-frequency detail.

The hybrid configuration delivers wide dispersion, helping maintain consistent dialogue clarity and tonal balance for viewers seated across a home theater rather than directly in front of the screen.

Its shared tweeter technology also helps the VOKAL MK2 integrate with other hybrid-tweeter models in the OPTICON MK2 series.

Front-Facing Twin Bass Reflex Ports

A distinguishing feature of the OPTICON VOKAL MK2 is its pair of slim, front-facing bass reflex ports.

Unlike conventional rear-ported center speakers, the VOKAL MK2 is designed to accommodate installation close to a wall or within suitable television furniture. Its front-ported configuration gives installers greater flexibility when positioning the speaker beneath a television or projection screen.

The reflex system supports a published low-frequency response extending to 47Hz, providing the output needed to reproduce demanding movie soundtracks alongside clear, detailed dialogue.

Adequate ventilation and appropriate cabinet dimensions should still be considered when integrating the speaker into enclosed AV furniture.

Danish Cabinet Construction

The OPTICON VOKAL MK2 is manufactured and tested at DALI's production facilities in central Denmark.

Its enclosure features a substantial 25mm front baffle and additional internal bracing, creating a rigid platform for the drivers while minimizing unwanted cabinet resonance.

DALI oversees the manufacturing process from cabinet fabrication and surface finishing to driver installation, crossover assembly and final testing.

This attention to construction helps the VOKAL MK2 deliver consistent acoustic performance while complementing the appearance of the OPTICON MK2 loudspeaker range.

Designed for Premium Home Theater Systems

The OPTICON VOKAL MK2 is specifically voiced for center channel duties and is designed to integrate with any loudspeaker in the OPTICON MK2 series.

Its 88dB sensitivity, 4-ohm nominal impedance and recommended amplifier power range of 30–150 watts make it suitable for pairing with capable AV receivers and dedicated home theater amplification.

With a maximum sound pressure level of 109dB and a frequency response of 47Hz–30kHz, the VOKAL MK2 is equipped to reproduce both quiet dialogue and demanding cinematic passages.

For a complete surround sound system, it can be combined with OPTICON MK2 floorstanding or bookshelf speakers, matching surround channels and an appropriately selected subwoofer.
