Nordost TYR 2 Tonearm Cable + – Norse 2 Series
The Nordost TYR 2 Tonearm Cable + is the highest-performance tonearm cable in Nordost’s Norse 2 Series, engineered specifically for the extremely delicate signals generated by phono cartridges. Its low-capacitance design, individually shielded channels, advanced Dual Mono-Filament technology, and versatile grounding system are designed to provide an exceptionally quiet and transparent connection between the tonearm and phono stage. Tyr 2 features four 25 AWG silver-plated 99.99999% OFC solid-core conductors, configured as two individually shielded twisted pairs. Nordost combines this geometry with mechanically tuned lay and lengths and Dual Mono-Filament construction to achieve fast signal transmission while minimizing dielectric interaction and unwanted noise. Advanced Grounding System
The Tonearm Cable + design incorporates a separately shielded silver-plated bond wire along with detachable grounding whips. Both use Nordost’s Micro Mono-Filament technology, allowing the grounding arrangement to be optimized for the specific turntable, tonearm, and phono stage. This flexible grounding system is designed to minimize noise that can enter the signal path through different component grounding configurations. (Nordost)
DIN, RCA & XLR Options
The Tyr 2 Tonearm Cable + is available with MoonGlo® straight or 90° low-mass 5-pin DIN, RCA, or XLR connectors. The bond wire and grounding whips are terminated with gold-plated 5mm spades. (Nordost)
