Nordost TYR 2 Speaker Cables – Norse 2 Series
The Nordost Tyr 2 Speaker Cables represent the highest level of loudspeaker cable performance within Nordost’s Norse 2 Series. Engineered for reference-quality stereo systems, Tyr 2 combines silver-plated solid-core conductors, Micro Mono-Filament technology, FEP insulation, and advanced mechanical tuning to provide an ultra-fast, low-loss connection between amplifier and loudspeakers.
Tyr 2 features 26 × 22 AWG silver-plated 99.99999% solid-core OFC conductors in Nordost’s distinctive flat-ribbon geometry. Mechanically tuned spacing and cable length work together with Micro Mono-Filament construction to control the electrical and mechanical properties of the cable, helping preserve dynamics, scale, detail, and musical coherence.

Micro Mono-Filament Technology
Nordost’s proprietary Micro Mono-Filament construction creates a virtual air dielectric around the conductors. Combined with extruded FEP insulation and solid-core conductors, this design minimizes dielectric contact and is engineered for extremely fast, low-loss signal transfer.
Banana & Spade Connector Options
Tyr 2 Speaker Cables are available with gold-plated Z-plug Banana connectors or gold-plated Spade connectors.
Standard spades feature a 6.5mm (1/4") internal opening and 12mm external width. A larger 8.5mm internal / 15mm external gold-plated spade is also available for compatible amplifier and speaker binding posts.
