Overview
Nordost QNET7 Network Switch – QRT Series
The Nordost QNET7 Network Switch is a purpose-built, high-performance Layer 2 Ethernet switch engineered specifically for premium digital audio systems. Rather than modifying an existing consumer-grade network switch, Nordost designed the QNET7 from the ground up to reduce the electrical noise and interference associated with high-speed network transmission.
With seven specialized network ports, nine independent ultra-low-noise power supplies, and dedicated connectivity for network audio components, the QNET7 is designed to provide a cleaner network environment for music streamers, servers, DACs, NAS drives, and other network-connected HiFi components.

Specialized Port Architecture
One of the QNET7’s most important features is that its ports are designed for different roles within a high-end audio network.
Ports 1–5 support Gigabit Ethernet and are ideal for connections such as your router, NAS, and other network devices. Port 6 operates at 100 Mbps and is specifically designed for audio components where additional noise control is desirable, making it ideal for a network streamer, music server, or network-connected DAC.
Port 7 provides additional flexibility through support for both 1000BASE-T and 1000BASE-X, allowing the use of compatible SFP modules for either copper RJ45 or optical network connections.
Nine Independent Power Supplies
The QNET7 incorporates nine independent ultra-low-noise power supplies. According to Nordost, this architecture helps minimize cross-contamination and interference within the switch, reducing noise and jitter that can negatively affect a high-resolution digital audio system.
