Naim NSS 333 – High-Resolution Network Music Streamer (open box)

Product Description

The Naim NSS 333 is a high-resolution network music streamer from Naim's New Classic 300 Series, engineered to serve as the digital source in a high-performance two-channel HiFi system. Combining advanced digital processing, integrated digital-to-analog conversion and extensive streaming connectivity, it brings music services, personal libraries and external digital components together in one reference-quality source.

Designed to partner with the Naim NAC 332 preamplifier and NAP 350 monoblock amplifiers, the NSS 333 offers balanced XLR, RCA and DIN analog outputs, four digital inputs and an upgrade path through the optional NPX 300 external power supply. Its full-color display and intuitive controls bring contemporary convenience to a traditional high-end stereo system.

High-Resolution Streaming and Digital Processing

At the heart of the NSS 333 is a 40-bit floating-point SHARC digital signal processor, providing precise digital audio processing before the signal reaches the player's internal DAC.

The NSS 333 supports high-resolution WAV files up to 32-bit/384kHz, FLAC, AIFF and Apple Lossless files up to 24-bit/384kHz, and DSD64 and DSD128. Gapless playback is supported across compatible formats, preserving uninterrupted transitions between tracks on live albums and classical recordings.

Its integrated DAC and analog output stages allow the NSS 333 to connect directly to a compatible preamplifier or integrated amplifier, eliminating the need for a separate external DAC.

Music Streaming with Qobuz, TIDAL and Roon

The NSS 333 provides access to major streaming services and networked music libraries, including Qobuz, TIDAL, Spotify Connect, Roon Ready and internet radio.

Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in and Bluetooth aptX expand playback options for compatible smartphones, tablets and computers. UPnP support allows the NSS 333 to access music stored on compatible network servers, while front and rear USB-A ports provide connectivity for supported external storage devices.

With Ethernet and Wi-Fi networking, the NSS 333 can be integrated into an existing home network without requiring a computer to remain connected during everyday streaming.

Four Digital Inputs and Flexible Audio Outputs

In addition to network streaming, the NSS 333 can operate as the DAC for other digital components in a stereo system.

Two optical TOSLINK inputs support signals up to 24-bit/96kHz, while RCA and BNC coaxial inputs accommodate resolutions up to 24-bit/192kHz. The coaxial connections also support DSD64 using DoP.

For analog integration, the NSS 333 provides stereo balanced XLR outputs, stereo RCA outputs and a five-pin DIN connection. A BNC digital output allows the player to be connected to a compatible external DAC.

The balanced outputs are particularly useful in systems where the source and preamplifier are positioned farther apart, offering additional installation flexibility.

Upgradeable with the Naim NPX 300 Power Supply

The NSS 333 incorporates its own internal power supply and can operate as a complete network music player without additional components.

For listeners developing a New Classic system, Naim provides an upgrade path through the optional NPX 300 external power supply. The NPX 300 is designed to provide dedicated power to compatible New Classic source components, allowing owners to upgrade the NSS 333 without replacing the streamer itself.

This flexibility makes the NSS 333 suitable for both new reference systems and existing Naim installations undergoing gradual upgrades.

Designed for the Naim New Classic 300 Series

The NSS 333 is a natural partner for the NAC 332 analog preamplifier and NAP 350 monoblock power amplifiers. Together, these components form a coordinated New Classic 300 Series system with dedicated streaming, preamplification and power amplification.

Bidirectional Zigbee communication allows the NSS 333 to control compatible Naim components, including the NAC 332. A dedicated optical control output provides synchronized operation with compatible power amplifiers, such as the NAP 250 and NAP 350.

These control connections help a multi-component Naim system operate as a unified listening setup while retaining the flexibility of separate HiFi components.

Focal & Naim App and Multiroom Playback

The Focal & Naim app for iOS and Android provides access to music services, internet radio, network libraries and system settings from a single interface.

Naim's Party Mode enables synchronized playback across up to six compatible Naim streamers, allowing the NSS 333 to participate in a whole-home music system alongside other Naim products.

A 5.5-inch color display presents album artwork and playback information, while four front-panel buttons provide convenient access to standby, playback, inputs and favorites. The included bidirectional Zigbee remote operates without requiring direct line of sight to the streamer.
