The Marten Mingus Septet combines precision, power, and exceptional musical transparency in a sophisticated four-way floorstanding loudspeaker.

Using a 1-inch pure diamond tweeter, 3-inch pure beryllium high-midrange driver, 7-inch pure ceramic mid-bass driver, dual 8-inch aluminum-sandwich bass drivers, and dual rear 10-inch passive radiators, the Mingus Septet delivers tremendous resolution and dynamic capability with deep, controlled bass extending to 23 Hz.

Marten's first-order crossover, Jorma internal wiring, resonance-controlled cabinet, and dedicated Marten Isolators complete a loudspeaker engineered to perform at true reference level.

Diamond, Beryllium & Ceramic Drivers

The Mingus Septet uses three advanced materials across its upper frequency range.

A custom 1-inch pure diamond tweeter provides exceptional speed, accuracy, and extremely low distortion.

The 3-inch pure beryllium high-midrange driver combines extremely low mass with high rigidity and excellent damping, providing fast transient response and exceptional clarity.

A 7-inch pure ceramic mid-bass driver handles the critical transition into the lower frequencies, using Marten's rigid ceramic technology for natural, low-distortion reproduction.

Powerful Bass with Passive Radiators

Low frequencies are handled by dual 8-inch aluminum-sandwich bass drivers engineered for long excursion and extremely low distortion.

On the rear of the cabinet, two 10-inch passive aluminum-sandwich radiators further extend and control the lowest frequencies.

The result is powerful, articulate bass response extending all the way down to 23 Hz.

The Mingus Septet also provides four levels of bass control, helping optimize its low-frequency performance for different rooms and placements.

First-Order Crossover

Marten's first-order crossover is fundamental to the Mingus Septet's performance.

Designed for exceptional time and phase coherence, the crossover allows the individual drivers to integrate into a unified presentation with exceptional openness, dynamics, and clarity.

Premium components include copper-foil air-core coils, silver/copper oil-paper capacitors, silver/gold capacitors, custom-made resistors, and Jorma internal cabling.

Reference-Level Construction

The Mingus Septet uses a substantial 25–40mm fiberboard laminate cabinet finished in Piano Black, with solid-wood or lacquered top and bottom sections.

The tapered enclosure, extensive internal bracing, advanced damping materials, and 4mm aluminum plate are engineered to minimize resonance and unwanted reflections.

Mirror-polished stainless-steel supports incorporate Marten Isolators developed with IsoAcoustics, mechanically separating the 211-pound loudspeaker from the floor.
