The Marten Mingus Quintet 2 brings much of the technology and refinement of Marten's larger reference loudspeakers into a more compact and room-friendly floorstanding design.

Featuring a pure diamond tweeter, 5-inch ceramic midrange, three 7-inch aluminum-sandwich bass drivers, first-order crossover, Jorma internal wiring, and Marten Isolators, the Mingus Quintet 2 delivers exceptional transparency, control, dynamics, and deep bass from an elegant cabinet that's easier to integrate into a wide range of listening rooms.

With frequency response extending from 24 Hz to 100,000 Hz ±2 dB, the Quintet 2 is a true full-range Marten loudspeaker.

Diamond & Ceramic Drivers

The Mingus Quintet 2 uses a 0.75-inch pure diamond tweeter for exceptional speed, resolution, and low distortion.

A 5-inch ceramic midrange driver handles the critical center of the musical spectrum. Ceramic combines extremely low mass with high rigidity and excellent internal damping, providing natural, transparent reproduction with minimal coloration.

Three-Driver Bass System

Low frequencies are handled by three 7-inch aluminum-sandwich Cell bass drivers.

Their long-excursion design and extremely low distortion provide powerful, articulate bass while maintaining the speed and control necessary to integrate seamlessly with the ceramic midrange.

The result is impressive bass extension reaching down to 24 Hz.

The Mingus Quintet 2 also provides four levels of bass control, making it easier to optimize the speaker for different rooms and placement requirements.

First-Order Crossover

Marten's first-order crossover is fundamental to the performance of the Mingus Quintet 2.

Designed for exceptional time and phase coherence, it allows all five drivers to work together as a unified system while maintaining an open, clean, and dynamic presentation.

Premium components include copper-foil air-core coils, silver/copper foil capacitors, silver foil capacitors, custom-made resistors, and Jorma internal cabling.

Reference-Level Construction

The Mingus Quintet 2 uses a substantial 25–40mm fiber-laminate cabinet with solid-wood top and bottom sections and advanced internal damping.

Its tapered shape minimizes unwanted reflections, while extensive internal bracing and carefully selected materials reduce cabinet resonance.

Mirror-polished stainless-steel supports incorporate Marten Isolators developed with IsoAcoustics, mechanically separating the loudspeaker from the floor and further reducing unwanted resonance and distortion.
