Overview

Michi Q430 CD Player

The Michi Prestige Q430 CD Player is a dedicated high-end digital source built for listeners who want uncompromised playback from a physical CD collection. It combines a precision floating tray-loading mechanism, an in-house manufactured ultra-quiet power supply, and an ESS SABRE ES9028PRO 8-channel DAC configured for stereo reproduction. Rotel

With fully balanced differential XLR outputs, RCA analog outputs, and a coaxial digital output for use as a dedicated CD transport, the Q430 can serve as either a complete reference CD player or a premium transport feeding an external DAC. Rotel

Precision Floating CD Mechanism

The Q430 uses a high-precision floating tray mechanism designed to isolate the disc transport and reduce mechanical vibration during playback. Its smooth-action loading system, stable disc handling, and mechanically substantial chassis provide the foundation for accurate data retrieval. Rotel

This is a purpose-built CD player rather than a universal disc machine—the engineering is concentrated specifically on extracting and converting Red Book CD audio with maximum consistency.

ESS SABRE ES9028PRO 8-Channel DAC

Digital-to-analog conversion is handled by the ESS SABRE ES9028PRO, an 8-channel DAC optimized by Michi for two-channel operation. Rotel

The Q430's differential implementation feeds both its RCA and fully balanced XLR analog outputs. Total harmonic distortion is rated at an exceptionally low <0.0006%, with balanced signal-to-noise performance exceeding 125 dB. Rotel

Ultra-Quiet Power Supply

Michi manufactures the Q430's power supply in-house and uses isolated power feeds with multi-stage regulation to suppress noise and ripple before they can contaminate the audio circuitry.

The result is a lower electrical noise floor supporting the DAC, analog output stage, and precision disc mechanism rather than relying on the DAC chip alone to determine overall performance. Rotel

Fully Balanced XLR Outputs

For systems using balanced preamplifiers or integrated amplifiers, the Q430 provides fully balanced differential XLR outputs delivering 4.2V, with channel separation rated at greater than 110 dB at 10 kHz. Rotel

Standard RCA outputs provide 1.96V, greater than 120 dB signal-to-noise ratio, and greater than 105 dB channel separation at 10 kHz. Rotel

Use the Q430 as a Dedicated CD Transport

A coaxial digital output allows the Michi Q430 to bypass its internal analog conversion and operate as a dedicated CD transport with an external DAC, digital preamplifier, or compatible integrated amplifier. Rotel

This gives the Q430 long-term flexibility: use its internal ES9028PRO conversion today or retain its precision transport architecture as the surrounding digital system evolves.

Michi Prestige Construction

The Q430 carries the industrial design of the current Michi Prestige Series with a precision-milled aluminum chassis, full-color TFT display, substantial controls, and understated black finish. A dedicated remote control is included. Rotel

Its 17-inch chassis width also visually complements the Michi P430 preamplifier, X430 integrated amplifier, and S430 power amplifier.
