Overview
DALI MENUET SE – Special Edition Bookshelf Speakers (pair)
Product Description
The DALI MENUET SE is a special-edition compact bookshelf speaker that elevates the original MENUET with upgraded drivers, premium crossover components and carefully matched natural wood veneers. Designed for listeners who want high-end stereo performance without large loudspeaker cabinets, the MENUET SE combines a 4½-inch woofer with a 28mm soft-dome tweeter to deliver detailed imaging, natural vocals and surprisingly substantial bass.
Its refinements go beyond appearance. A fiberglass voice-coil former reduces mechanical losses in the woofer, while Mundorf capacitors, silver-plated internal wiring and gold-plated terminals derived from DALI's EPICON series improve the speaker's internal construction. Each loudspeaker is hand-assembled and personally signed by a DALI technician, giving this special edition a distinctive combination of acoustic engineering and Danish craftsmanship.
Upgraded 4½-Inch Woofer
The MENUET SE retains the compact two-way architecture of the original MENUET while introducing an important refinement to its bass/midrange driver.
Its 4½-inch woofer incorporates a low-loss fiberglass voice-coil former, selected to reduce mechanical losses and minimize distortion. Working with DALI's wood-fibre cone technology, the driver is engineered to reproduce subtle musical details while maintaining controlled bass and natural midrange performance.
This upgraded driver construction helps the MENUET SE deliver the clarity and dynamic expression expected from a high-end stand-mount loudspeaker, even in smaller listening rooms.
28mm Soft-Dome Tweeter
High frequencies are reproduced by a 28mm soft-dome tweeter, paired with the 4½-inch woofer through a two-way crossover operating at 3,000Hz.
The tweeter's wide-dispersion characteristics help the MENUET SE create a spacious stereo image and maintain consistent tonal balance across the listening area.
Together, the two drivers provide a published frequency response of 59Hz to 25kHz, allowing this compact speaker to reproduce delicate acoustic recordings, complex instrumental arrangements and dynamic music with precision.
Premium Mundorf Crossover and Silver-Plated Wiring
One of the most significant differences between the standard MENUET and the MENUET SE is the upgraded crossover network.
DALI equips the special edition with premium-grade Mundorf capacitors mounted on a highly insulating crossover board. Silver-plated internal wiring completes the upgraded signal path.
These components were selected through DALI's listening and development process to reduce unwanted losses and preserve musical detail. The result is a carefully refined version of the MENUET's established acoustic design.
Gold-Plated EPICON Speaker Terminals
The MENUET SE also benefits from high-end speaker terminals derived from DALI's EPICON series.
Their sturdy, gold-plated construction provides a secure connection for premium speaker cables and complements the upgraded crossover and internal wiring.
Rather than simply changing the cabinet finish, DALI has addressed several components throughout the loudspeaker to create a distinct special-edition model.
Hand-Matched Walnut Veneers
High Gloss Wild Walnut
Natural Walnut Veneer
The MENUET SE is available in two genuine wood veneer finishes: High Gloss Wild Walnut and Natural Walnut Veneer.
Each stereo pair is carefully matched to create a consistent appearance while preserving the natural variation and character of real wood. The combination of compact proportions and premium finishes makes the MENUET SE particularly suitable for living rooms, offices and dedicated listening spaces where appearance is as important as acoustic performance.
Hand-Assembled and Personally Signed
Every MENUET SE loudspeaker is hand-assembled and personally signed by the DALI technician responsible for its construction.
This individual attention reflects the model's special-edition status and DALI's emphasis on craftsmanship. Its compact cabinet can be positioned on dedicated speaker stands, suitable shelving or compatible wall mounts, making it adaptable to a variety of listening environments.
High-End Stereo Performance for Smaller Rooms
With 86dB sensitivity, a 4-ohm nominal impedance and a recommended amplifier power range of 20–100 watts, the MENUET SE is designed for use with appropriately matched integrated amplifiers and stereo power amplifiers.
Its compact dimensions make it particularly attractive for smaller listening rooms where precise imaging, tonal refinement and musical detail take priority over cabinet size.
For systems requiring deeper bass extension, the MENUET SE can also be paired with a properly integrated subwoofer while retaining the imaging and midrange performance of a compact two-way loudspeaker.
