A New Standard in Luxury Home Theater
The McIntosh MX124 A/V Processor is designed as the centerpiece of a reference-level home cinema, combining 13.4-channel immersive audio processing, 8K video, advanced room correction, high-resolution music streaming, and extensive system integration in McIntosh’s unmistakable luxury design.
With support for configurations including 7.4.6 and 9.4.4, plus four independent subwoofer outputs, the MX124 provides the flexibility and processing power needed for sophisticated dedicated theaters and premium media rooms.
Immersive 13.4-Channel Surround Sound
The MX124 supports the latest immersive audio formats, including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, Sony 360 Reality Audio, MPEG-H Audio, and IMAX Enhanced. Nine audiophile-grade 32-bit DACs provide high-quality digital-to-analog conversion for detailed, dynamic, and precise multichannel reproduction.
Four dedicated subwoofer outputs allow advanced multi-subwoofer installations, helping deliver deeper, smoother, and more consistent bass throughout the listening area.
8K Ultra HD Video
Equipped with 7 HDMI inputs and 3 HDMI outputs, the MX124 supports 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz, making it ready for high-performance home cinema and gaming systems.
Advanced video support includes Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG, Dynamic HDR, HDCP 2.3, Rec. 2020, 4:4:4 color, VRR, ALLM, QFT, Dynamic Lip-Sync, and eARC. The third HDMI output can provide independent video to a second zone.
Dirac Live & Advanced Bass Control
The MX124 includes both Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control, with the required licenses included. Dirac analyzes the acoustic behavior of the listening environment and applies correction to improve imaging, tonal balance, and overall system performance.
Bass Control further optimizes the interaction between multiple subwoofers and the main speakers for tighter and more consistent low-frequency reproduction throughout the room. Audyssey MultEQ XT32 is also included, giving installers additional calibration flexibility.
High-Resolution Music Streaming
The MX124 isn't limited to movies. It also functions as a sophisticated network music hub with streaming up to 32-bit/192kHz.
Enjoy music through Apple AirPlay, Bluetooth, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, and TIDAL Connect. The MX124 is also Roon Ready, making it an excellent choice for systems combining serious two-channel music playback with a reference home theater.
Designed for Professional Integration
The MX124 is particularly well suited to professionally integrated luxury homes. It carries Connects with Control4 certification with SDDP and Works with Crestron Home certification.
Installer-focused capabilities include web-based configuration, configuration backup and restore, pre-configuration file upload, RS-232 and IP control, and an included full-size calibration microphone stand.
