The McIntosh LB200 Light Box solves that problem in a uniquely McIntosh way.

From the front, the LB200 looks like another classic McIntosh component, with an illuminated black-glass panel proudly displaying the iconic McIntosh logo and “Handcrafted In The USA Since 1949” statement.

But behind that glass is something clever: a large hidden storage compartment designed to conceal the less attractive electronics in your system.

Clean Up Your McIntosh System

Streaming boxes, cable boxes, satellite receivers and other small electronics can be essential parts of a modern entertainment system.

They're just not always something you want to look at.

The LB200 gives those components a dedicated place to disappear while maintaining the clean, cohesive appearance of a McIntosh system.

Inside is a substantial 16.1" wide x 4.4" high x 13.4" deep storage compartment.

A removable rear panel provides access to the compartment, and if a component fits inside but is too large for the rear opening, the LB200's top can be removed for installation. Dedicated openings at the rear also assist with cable management.

Your Remote Still Works

Hiding a component isn't very useful if you can't control it.

McIntosh includes an IR receiver system installed inside the LB200. An extra-wide IR sensor window on the front receives commands from your remote control and relays them to compatible equipment hidden inside.

McIntosh also states that RF and Wi-Fi commands will generally pass through the LB200 without significant signal loss, although the company does not recommend installing a wireless router inside the enclosure.

That means the electronics can disappear without sacrificing the everyday convenience of using them.

Designed With Ventilation in Mind

Electronics generate heat, so McIntosh didn't simply build a closed decorative box.

Ventilation slots are incorporated into the top, bottom and sides of the LB200 to help dissipate heat produced by equipment installed inside.

McIntosh recommends leaving the top unobstructed when electronics are being stored inside the LB200 to maximize heat dissipation.

Integrates With Your McIntosh System

The LB200 isn't just designed to look like a McIntosh component—it can operate like part of the system.

Rear-panel Power Control input and output connections allow the LB200's illumination to power on and off along with compatible McIntosh components.

If Power Control isn't being used, a conventional rear-panel power switch is also provided.

Classic McIntosh From the Front

The LB200 uses the visual elements that have made McIntosh components instantly recognizable.

The illuminated black-glass front panel and aluminum end caps give it the same unmistakable presence as the electronics surrounding it.

Its dimensions are also similar to a McIntosh CD player, allowing it to fit naturally into a standard A/V rack, equipment cabinet or furniture installation alongside other McIntosh components.

And even if you have absolutely nothing to hide inside it, there's another reason to own one.

It simply looks fantastic sitting in a McIntosh system.

More Than a Light Box

Calling the LB200 a "Light Box" almost undersells what McIntosh created.

It's really a combination of system décor, equipment enclosure and cable-management solution.

For a carefully designed listening room or theater, that's important. The visual experience of a high-end system shouldn't be compromised by the one inexpensive streaming box that happens to be necessary to make everything work.
