The Magnetar UDP900 MKII is Magnetar’s flagship universal 4K UHD Blu-ray player, engineered as a reference-grade source for uncompromising home cinema and high-performance audio systems. Combining exceptional 4K video reproduction with a completely redesigned audio architecture, dual ESS Sabre DACs, extensive analog connectivity, and substantial construction, the UDP900 MKII is designed for systems where both picture and sound quality are critical.

The UDP900 MKII provides true universal disc playback, supporting 4K UHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, SACD, CD, AVCHD, and a wide range of recordable media. Dual ESS9038PRO DAC Architecture

At the heart of the UDP900 MKII is a fully redesigned audio section utilizing dual ESS9038PRO DACs. These flagship-grade digital-to-analog converters provide dedicated high-performance conversion for the player's stereo and multichannel analog outputs.

The UDP900 MKII provides balanced XLR and RCA stereo outputs as well as full 7.1-channel RCA analog outputs, allowing it to serve not only as a digital transport but as a premium analog source for stereo preamplifiers, integrated amplifiers, AV processors, and multichannel systems.

Performance reflects the ambition of the design. Through its balanced XLR outputs, the UDP900 MKII is specified with a signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range of at least 130dB, channel separation of at least 130dB, and total harmonic distortion plus noise of no more than 0.0005%.

PCM768 and DSD512 USB Audio

The UDP900 MKII incorporates an upgraded XMOS USB Audio interface supporting high-resolution playback up to PCM 768kHz and DSD512. This allows the UDP900 MKII to function as a high-performance DAC for compatible digital sources in addition to its role as a universal disc player.

An enhanced USB 3.0 architecture incorporates a new hub chipset and redesigned isolated power supply to improve compatibility, data-transfer stability, and performance with USB flash drives and external hard drives.

Refined HDMI Audio

Magnetar has incorporated TMDS retiming into the dedicated HDMI audio output, designed to reduce the effects of random jitter and improve digital signal integrity.

HDMI audio supports up to 7.1-channel 192kHz PCM, 5.1-channel DSD, and bitstream output, providing a high-quality digital connection to premium AV processors and receivers.

Reference Analog Audio

Unlike many modern disc players designed primarily as digital transports, the UDP900 MKII places considerable emphasis on analog performance.
