Magnetar UDP800 MKII 4K UHD Blu-ray Player

The Magnetar UDP800 MKII takes Magnetar’s premium universal disc player and further refines its audio performance, digital connectivity, and system integration. Designed for high-performance home theater and two-channel systems, the UDP800 MKII combines exceptional 4K UHD video reproduction, universal disc compatibility, high-resolution audio playback, and audiophile-grade analog output in a substantial, purpose-built chassis.

Supporting 4K UHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, SACD, CD, and AVCHD, the UDP800 MKII provides a single premium source for extensive physical media collections. It supports HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, high-resolution PCM and DSD playback, along with Source Direct video output for systems using an external video processor or advanced display.

Redesigned MKII Audio Architecture

A major advancement of the UDP800 MKII is its newly redesigned 2.0-channel audio board. Magnetar replaces the previous operational amplifier configuration with seven Texas Instruments OPA1602 op-amps, selected for extremely low noise, low distortion, and high-precision signal reproduction.

Dedicated balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA stereo outputs allow the UDP800 MKII to serve as a high-quality source component in serious two-channel systems as well as reference home theaters.

The analog stage delivers a specified signal-to-noise ratio of 120dB or greater, with channel separation exceeding 120dB through the balanced XLR outputs.

Improved HDMI Audio Performance

For the MKII, Magnetar has added TMDS retiming to the dedicated HDMI audio output. This helps compensate for random jitter while improving signal integrity and stability, allowing the player to provide a cleaner digital audio signal to compatible AV processors and receivers.

The HDMI audio connection supports up to 7.1-channel 192kHz PCM, 5.1-channel DSD, and bitstream output, making the UDP800 MKII an excellent transport for high-performance immersive theater systems.

Enhanced USB 3.0 Architecture

The USB system has also been upgraded for the MKII generation. A new USB 3.0 hub chipset and redesigned isolated USB power supply improve compatibility with USB flash drives and external hard drives while increasing data-transfer stability and performance.

This makes the UDP800 MKII equally capable as a premium disc transport and a high-resolution digital media source.

Upgraded Internal Construction

Magnetar has further refined the internal signal architecture with high-quality copper-core wiring and upgraded JST and Amphenol PCB connectors. These improvements are designed to provide greater connection stability and reliability throughout the player.

The UDP800 MKII retains Magnetar's substantial construction philosophy, giving the player the physical stability expected from a premium audio/video component while helping isolate sensitive circuitry from unwanted vibration and interference.

Smart Home Integration

The UDP800 MKII adds support for both Control4 and Crestron, making it particularly well suited for professionally designed home theaters and integrated entertainment systems.
