Dynamic HDR Tone Mapping 2.0

The Envy Core MK2 uses madVR's advanced Dynamic Tone Mapping 2.0 to analyze HDR content frame by frame and optimize the image for the connected display.

Proprietary Highlight Recovery, Contrast Recovery and Shadow Detail Recovery algorithms help preserve bright highlights, reveal shadow information and maintain natural image contrast. This is particularly valuable for projection systems, where peak brightness is more limited than on modern flat-panel displays.

AI-Powered 4K Upscaling and Image Enhancement

Proprietary machine-learning algorithms upscale lower-resolution content to 4K while improving perceived detail and sharpness.

Advanced chroma processing converts subsampled video to full 4:4:4 chroma resolution, while configurable image enhancement tools address compression artifacts, banding, mosquito noise and unwanted ringing.

Its proprietary Non-Linear Stretch (NLS+) technology can expand content to fill wider screens while minimizing visible geometric distortion. This provides greater flexibility for cinemas using 2.35:1 or 2.40:1 screens without relying exclusively on external anamorphic lenses.

Precision Color Calibration

The Envy Core MK2 supports professional video calibration using 256-point 3D LUTs and 4,096-point 1D LUTs.

Compatibility with industry-standard calibration software, including ColourSpace and Calman, allows professional installers to optimize grayscale tracking, color accuracy and display performance.

Intelligent Subtitle Management

Dynamic subtitle positioning helps keep subtitles visible when watching content on widescreen projection systems.

Rather than permanently shrinking the entire image, Envy adjusts the presentation when necessary, maintaining maximum screen utilization while preventing subtitles from being cropped.
