Overview
Luxman NT-07 High-Resolution Network Transport (Open Box)
Bring Modern Streaming Into a Reference Luxman System
The Luxman NT-07 Network Transport is Luxman's dedicated solution for bringing high-resolution streaming, network audio, local music libraries, USB storage, and even HDMI-based sources into a serious two-channel audio system.
Unlike an all-in-one streamer/DAC, the NT-07 is intentionally designed as a digital transport. It retrieves, manages, and outputs digital music to the DAC of your choice—making it an ideal partner for a high-performance digital player such as the Luxman D-07X or D-10X, or another compatible external DAC.
The NT-07 supports Qobuz, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, TuneIn, Roon Ready, UPnP/OpenHome network playback, NAS libraries, USB storage, HDMI ARC, and high-resolution audio up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and 22.5MHz DSD through USB output.
For someone who wants modern streaming without abandoning an existing high-end DAC or digital system, the NT-07 fills an important gap in the Luxman lineup.
A Network Transport Instead of Another DAC
Luxman took a focused approach with the NT-07.
There's no internal D/A converter. The NT-07 concentrates on receiving and managing digital sources, then delivering that information to an external DAC through:
- USB
- Coaxial digital
- Optical digital
- HDMI
That architecture makes particular sense in a reference system where the owner already has a DAC they love.
Rather than paying for another conversion stage, the NT-07 becomes the digital front end responsible for streaming services, network libraries, USB storage, internet radio, and other digital sources while your existing DAC handles conversion to analog.
High-Resolution Streaming Up to 32-Bit/768kHz and DSD512
The NT-07's USB digital output supports exceptionally high-resolution audio.
PCM playback extends up to:
768kHz / 32-bit
Native DSD support extends to:
22.5MHz / 1-bit — DSD512
Coaxial and optical outputs support PCM resolutions up to 192kHz/24-bit.
Supported file formats include:
WAV, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC, MQA, MP3, AAC and DSD in DSF/DFF formats.
That makes the NT-07 equally comfortable handling standard CD-quality files, lossless high-resolution downloads, and extremely high-resolution PCM and DSD libraries.
Qobuz, TIDAL, Spotify and Internet Radio
Streaming is built into the NT-07 rather than treated as an add-on.
The dedicated Luxman Stream app integrates Qobuz and TIDAL, giving listeners direct access to large catalogs of lossless and high-resolution music.
The NT-07 also supports:
TIDAL Connect
Spotify Connect
TuneIn internet radio and podcasts
That means everyday streaming can be as simple as selecting music from the service you're already using while the NT-07 handles delivery to the rest of the high-end audio system.
Roon Ready
The NT-07 supports Roon Ready operation, allowing it to function as a network endpoint within a Roon-based music system.
For listeners with large digital collections, Roon can combine locally stored music and compatible streaming services into one library while adding extensive metadata, artist information, recommendations, credits, and browsing tools.
The NT-07 provides the Luxman hardware endpoint that connects that experience to the DAC and two-channel system.
Built for NAS-Based Music Libraries
If you've spent years building a digital music collection, the NT-07 doesn't force you to abandon it for streaming.
The unit supports the UPnP/OpenHome standard, allowing music stored on a compatible NAS or dedicated music server to be accessed across the network.
A Gigabit Ethernet connection (1000BASE-T) provides the wired network interface.
That wired architecture is exactly what we prefer in a serious fixed audio system: stable network performance without depending on the quality of a wireless connection at the equipment rack.
Play Music Directly From USB Storage
You don't even need a network server to play locally stored digital music.
The NT-07 includes front and rear USB storage connections, allowing compatible USB drives containing music files to be connected directly to the transport.
The two ports are intended for exclusive use rather than simultaneous operation and support FAT32, exFAT and NTFS storage formats.
For someone with an existing hard drive or flash-drive music library, this provides an easy path into high-quality digital playback without first building a dedicated NAS environment.
HDMI ARC Brings Your TV Into the HiFi System
This is one of the NT-07's most useful features.
Luxman equips the transport with HDMI input and output plus ARC — Audio Return Channel.
That allows digital audio from compatible televisions and video sources to become part of the two-channel system.
Connect a TV and you can route its audio through the NT-07 and on to your external DAC and stereo system. Blu-ray players, game systems, and other compatible HDMI sources can also become part of the setup.
The HDMI system supports 2-channel PCM up to 192kHz/24-bit along with 4K video pass-through.
For customers who want their high-end two-channel system to handle television and movie audio without building a completely separate AV system, this makes the NT-07 considerably more versatile than a conventional network streamer.
Intelligent Resampling
Not every DAC supports every sample rate the NT-07 can receive.
Luxman's intelligent resampling function allows the NT-07 to match digital output to the sampling frequency and bit depth supported by the connected DAC.
PCM formats from 44.1kHz through 384kHz can be individually configured for upsampling or downsampling.
That's especially useful when pairing the NT-07 with an older DAC that may sound excellent but doesn't support today's highest native sample rates.
Instead of replacing the DAC simply because of format compatibility, the NT-07 can help bridge the gap.
MQA Decoding Options
For MQA-encoded music, the NT-07 provides three operating modes:
Off
Core Decoding
Pass-Through
This allows MQA processing to be configured according to the capabilities of the connected DAC rather than forcing one universal approach.
Luxman Stream App and Physical Remote Control
A streamer lives or dies by its interface.
The Luxman Stream app provides access to source selection, music browsing, playlists, playback functions, and device settings from compatible smartphones and tablets.
Luxman also includes the RC-30 aluminum infrared remote control.
That means you don't have to find your phone every time you want to pause a track or perform a basic operation.
The remote can also control playback functions on compatible Luxman disc players and volume on compatible Luxman integrated or control amplifiers. Control input/output terminals allow supported Luxman components to work together as a more unified system.
Large OLED Display
The center of the NT-07's front panel features a large, high-definition organic EL display.
During playback it can show information including:
- Song title
- Artist
- Elapsed time
- Audio format
It gives the NT-07 the visual information you'd expect from a modern network source while maintaining the clean, understated appearance of Luxman's current electronics.
A Power Supply Designed Like an Audio Component
Network transports contain processors, networking hardware, digital interfaces, and other circuitry that can generate electrical noise.
Luxman approaches the NT-07's power supply like it would one of its traditional audio components.
A substantial OI-type power transformer feeds highly regulated power-supply circuitry, supported by two custom 10,000μF filter capacitors.
The goal is to provide stable power while reducing the influence of electrical noise on the digital audio circuitry.
This is one of the distinctions between adding a generic network device to a HiFi system and using a dedicated high-end network transport engineered specifically for audio.
The Grid's Take on the Luxman NT-07
The NT-07 is an important product for Luxman because it solves one of the biggest questions facing a modern high-end system:
How do you add streaming without throwing away a great DAC?
Luxman's answer is not to force another DAC into the box.
The NT-07 handles the constantly evolving side of digital audio—streaming services, Roon, network libraries, USB storage, HDMI ARC, high-resolution formats and digital source management—while letting the component you've already chosen handle D/A conversion.
We particularly like the HDMI implementation. A reference two-channel system shouldn't have to sit unused every time the TV comes on. HDMI ARC gives the NT-07 a practical way to integrate television and video audio into the same Luxman system used for serious music listening.
And within the Luxman ecosystem, the possibilities are obvious.
Pair the NT-07 with a D-07X or D-10X and the disc player can handle D/A conversion while the NT-07 adds modern network streaming. Connect that combination to a C-10X and M-10X, and you have a reference Luxman system capable of handling physical discs, locally stored high-resolution music, streaming services, and television audio.
At The Grid HiFi & Home Theater, we can help integrate the NT-07 with your existing DAC, network, streaming services, television, and Luxman electronics to create one digital system instead of a collection of disconnected sources.
