The Audio Research LS28SE is a high-performance vacuum-tube line-stage preamplifier developed using technology and component knowledge gained from Audio Research's Reference 160-series amplifiers. The SE evolution incorporates upgraded components throughout the signal path and power supply, combining four 6H30P dual-triode tubes, extensive balanced connectivity and exceptionally wide bandwidth. 6H30P Vacuum-Tube Line Stage
The LS28SE uses four 6H30P dual triodes with electronically regulated high- and low-voltage power supplies. Frequency response extends from 0.4 Hz to 200 kHz at -3 dB, while rated THD+noise is less than 0.007% at 2V RMS balanced output. Audio Research
Extensive Analog Connectivity
Eight inputs provide four balanced XLR and four single-ended RCA connections. Two main outputs and one record output are provided in both XLR and RCA formats, making the LS28SE easy to integrate into complex two-channel systems. Audio Research
Flexible System Control
A 103-step volume control provides precise level adjustment. User-selectable functions include input naming, tube-hour monitoring, automatic shutdown, home theater passthrough assignment, phase inversion, mono and mute. A 45-second automatic warm-up and brown-out mute protect the system during startup and unstable power conditions. Audio Research
