Klipschorn 80th Anniversary AK7 Limited Edition Loudspeaker

Price: $12,999 Each | $25,998 Pair

80 Years of the Klipschorn. One Extraordinary Limited Edition.

The Klipschorn 80th Anniversary Limited Edition celebrates eight decades of one of the most important loudspeakers in audio history. Created to honor Paul W. Klipsch's original patented 1946 design, this special Klipschorn combines the fundamental principles that made the original legendary with modern acoustic engineering, an active crossover, and exceptional American craftsmanship.

Limited to only 280 pairs worldwide, the Klipschorn 80th Anniversary is far more than a cosmetic anniversary edition. Klipsch has returned to the concept of PWK's original two-way, fully horn-loaded architecture and re-engineered it for a new generation.

The result is a highly sensitive, extraordinarily dynamic loudspeaker designed to reproduce music with the scale, immediacy, clarity, and effortless output that have defined the Klipschorn since 1946.

Each Klipschorn 80th Anniversary loudspeaker is hand-built to order in Hope, Arkansas, finished in striking Tigerwood veneer and detailed with real brass inlays and a sandcast aluminum high-frequency horn.

A Modern Interpretation of Paul W. Klipsch's Original

The original Klipschorn was born from Paul W. Klipsch's pursuit of high efficiency, wide dynamic range, and low distortion. Eighty years later, those same principles remain at the heart of the anniversary model.

Unlike the current traditional three-way Klipschorn, the 80th Anniversary Klipschorn uses a two-way configuration, bringing the design closer in concept to PWK's original patented architecture while taking advantage of contemporary driver and crossover technology.

At the top is the newly developed K-5-K high-frequency horn with a 2-inch throat, coupled to a high-powered 4-inch compression driver utilizing the motor structure developed for the flagship Klipsch Jubilee. This combination is engineered for exceptional output, detail, and dynamic capability.

Below it, the legendary Klipschorn folded bass-horn principle remains. The low-frequency cabinet incorporates an approximately eight-foot folded bass horn, delivering the efficiency, scale, and visceral impact that have made the Klipschorn instantly recognizable for generations.

Active Crossover Technology

One of the most significant technological advances in the Klipschorn 80th Anniversary Edition is its active crossover.

Rather than relying solely on a conventional passive network inside the loudspeaker, the active crossover allows greater control over the integration of the high- and low-frequency sections.

The result is a modern interpretation of the Klipschorn capable of extracting greater performance from its fully horn-loaded architecture while preserving the efficiency and dynamic character central to the design.

Fully Horn-Loaded Performance

Few loudspeakers reproduce the scale and immediacy of music like a Klipschorn.

Its exceptionally efficient, fully horn-loaded architecture allows the speaker to produce tremendous acoustic output without requiring enormous amplifier power. More importantly, that efficiency contributes to the explosive dynamics and effortless presentation for which Klipsch Heritage loudspeakers are famous.

From intimate recordings to large-scale orchestral music and live performances, the Klipschorn 80th Anniversary Limited Edition is engineered to recreate the energy and physical presence of the original event.

This is not a conventional floorstanding speaker.

It is a Klipschorn.

Tigerwood, Brass and Heirloom-Level Craftsmanship

The 80th Anniversary Edition is visually distinct from any standard-production Klipschorn.

Each loudspeaker is finished in a rich Tigerwood real-wood veneer, with the veneer book-matched across each pair to create a mirrored grain pattern.

Real brass inlay traces the contour of the folded horn, while the substantial sandcast aluminum high-frequency horn creates a striking visual centerpiece.

The result combines traditional American loudspeaker craftsmanship with a distinctly mid-century aesthetic that connects the speaker visually to its 1946 origins.

Hand-Built in Hope, Arkansas

Every Klipschorn 80th Anniversary Limited Edition is handcrafted in Hope, Arkansas, the birthplace of Klipsch and the home of the company's Heritage loudspeakers.

The Klipschorn has the rare distinction of remaining in continuous commercial production for more than 80 years. The anniversary model celebrates not only Paul W. Klipsch's engineering legacy but also the generations of craftspeople who have continued building these loudspeakers in Hope.

Only 280 Pairs Worldwide

Production of the Klipschorn 80th Anniversary Limited Edition is restricted to just 280 pairs worldwide.

That makes this one of the most exclusive Klipsch Heritage loudspeakers ever offered and a significant model for collectors, Klipsch enthusiasts, and listeners looking for an extraordinary statement loudspeaker with a direct connection to the origins of American high-fidelity audio.

Limited-Edition KlipschTape 180g Vinyl

Each Klipschorn 80th Anniversary Edition also includes a special 180-gram vinyl pressing of original KlipschTape recordings.

Dating to the early 1950s, these recordings were created as stereo demonstrations during the formative years of high-fidelity audio. The limited pressing includes material that has been long out of print—and, according to Klipsch, some recordings that have never previously been heard publicly.

It's a fitting connection between the technology Paul W. Klipsch was developing nearly eight decades ago and the loudspeaker created to celebrate his legacy today.
