The Klipsch THX-5002-L is a THX Ultra2 Certified in-ceiling LCR speaker designed for dedicated home theaters and premium architectural audio systems. Combining dual 5.25-inch Cerametallic woofers with a 1-inch titanium tweeter mounted in a specialized Variable Coverage Technology horn, it delivers dynamic, precisely directed sound while preserving the clean appearance of a flush-mounted ceiling installation.

Engineered for front left, center and right channel applications, the THX-5002-L features an enclosed, tuned-port cabinet for consistent acoustic performance and a paintable, edge-to-edge magnetic grille for seamless integration into custom theater interiors.

THX Ultra2 Certified Cinema Performance

The THX-5002-L is designed to reproduce demanding movie soundtracks and multichannel music at reference listening levels. Its THX certification supports use in systems designed for rooms of approximately 3,000 cubic feet or larger.

With 93dB sensitivity and 100 watts continuous/400 watts peak power handling, the speaker is engineered to reproduce dynamic cinematic effects while maintaining clarity and detail.

Its 45Hz–20kHz frequency response provides broad bandwidth for dialogue, music and effects, allowing it to serve as a front-channel speaker in a professionally designed home theater.

Dual 5.25-Inch Cerametallic Woofers

Two 5.25-inch Cerametallic woofers provide the THX-5002-L with the output capability required for demanding home theater applications.

Their rigid, lightweight cones are designed to minimize unwanted flexing and resonance throughout their operating range. The woofers operate inside an enclosed, tuned-port chamber, allowing their acoustic performance to remain consistent regardless of the available air volume above the ceiling.

This construction is particularly valuable in custom installations where ceiling cavities vary in size or contain insulation, ductwork and other building infrastructure.

Titanium Tweeter with Variable Coverage Technology

At the heart of the THX-5002-L is a 1-inch titanium tweeter mounted in a specialized 7.5 × 3.75-inch horn.

Klipsch's patented Variable Coverage Technology (VCT) employs a 60°–90°–110° horn configuration with a 45° skewed orientation. This design directs high-frequency energy toward the intended listening area, helping create precise imaging and localized sound effects even when the speaker must be mounted overhead.

Unlike the THX-5002-S surround model, which uses dual tweeters for a more diffuse surround presentation, the THX-5002-L employs a single horn-loaded tweeter designed for more precisely directed front-channel sound.

Enclosed, Front-Ported Cabinet

The THX-5002-L incorporates a fully enclosed bass-reflex cabinet with a 1.6-inch front-facing port that sits flush with the ceiling.

Because the woofers operate within their own tuned enclosure, the speaker does not rely on the ceiling cavity to establish its acoustic loading. This provides greater consistency across different room designs and installation locations.

The enclosed construction also makes the THX-5002-L suitable for professionally designed home theaters where predictable loudspeaker performance is important for system calibration.

Timbre-Matched THX Home Theater Integration

The THX-5002-L is designed to complement other Klipsch THX-certified loudspeakers, allowing system designers to combine in-ceiling, in-wall and conventional speakers within a coordinated home theater.

Its LCR configuration makes it useful when architectural requirements prevent the installation of traditional front-channel loudspeakers. It can also be incorporated into custom multichannel systems where discreet placement and precise coverage are priorities.

Matching loudspeakers across the front soundstage helps maintain consistent tonal character as dialogue, music and effects move between channels.

Paintable, Edge-to-Edge Magnetic Grille

The THX-5002-L includes a flat, edge-to-edge grille designed to minimize its visual presence once installed.

The grille attaches using neodymium magnets, providing a secure fit without visible mounting hardware. Its paintable finish allows it to blend with the surrounding ceiling, making it suitable for contemporary interiors and dedicated theaters where visible equipment is kept to a minimum.

An optional IK-502-C installation kit is available for projects requiring a preconstruction mounting solution.
