THX Ultra2 Reference Cinema Performance

The Klipsch THX-1200-SW is designed as part of the legendary Klipsch THX Ultra2 home theater system, bringing professional-grade low-frequency performance to luxury residential cinemas.

Featuring a powerful 12-inch long-throw Cerametallic™ woofer with a massive 240-ounce ceramic magnet structure, this passive subwoofer is engineered to deliver exceptional output while maintaining outstanding accuracy and control.

With a frequency response extending from 20 Hz to 200 Hz (±3 dB), the THX-1200-SW reproduces everything from subtle low-frequency musical details to explosive cinematic sound effects.

When two THX-1200-SW subwoofers are driven by a compatible KA-1000-THX amplifier, the system meets the demanding low-frequency output requirements of THX Ultra2 certification.

The dual-subwoofer configuration is capable of producing maximum acoustic output levels of:

• 130 dB at 30 Hz

• 122 dB at 20 Hz

• 112 dB at 15 Hz

These ratings are based on two subwoofer enclosures positioned side by side under Klipsch's specified measurement conditions.

Whether you're watching the latest action blockbuster, experiencing an immersive Dolby Atmos soundtrack, or enjoying high-resolution music, the THX-1200-SW delivers the powerful, detailed bass that makes every moment more engaging.

Advanced Klipsch Subwoofer Technology

12-Inch Long-Throw Cerametallic™ Woofer

At the heart of the THX-1200-SW is a high-performance 12-inch Cerametallic™ woofer featuring a rigid, lightweight cone and cast aluminum frame.

The advanced driver design provides excellent transient response, powerful low-frequency reproduction, and reduced cone distortion, allowing the subwoofer to reproduce demanding bass passages with impressive precision.

Massive 240-Ounce Magnet Structure

The THX-1200-SW features a powerful 240-ounce ceramic magnet structure engineered to provide exceptional driver control and high-output capability.

This substantial motor assembly allows the woofer to handle demanding cinematic effects while maintaining low distortion and accurate bass reproduction.

Front-Firing Bass Reflex Design

The subwoofer incorporates a front-firing slot port designed to extend low-frequency performance while providing greater placement flexibility.

Unlike rear-ported designs, its front-mounted port can make integration into appropriately designed home theater installations more convenient.

Dedicated KA-1000-THX Amplifier Compatibility

The THX-1200-SW is specifically engineered for use with the Klipsch KA-1000-THX external subwoofer amplifier.

This dedicated Class D amplifier delivers:

• 500 watts continuous into 8 ohms for one compatible subwoofer

• 1,000 watts continuous into 4 ohms when driving two compatible subwoofers in parallel

The amplifier's optimized performance characteristics provide the power and control required for the THX-1200-SW.

Professional SpeakON® Connectivity

The THX-1200-SW utilizes a professional-grade Neutrik SpeakON® NL2 connection for secure and reliable amplifier integration.

The locking connector helps prevent accidental disconnection and provides dependable electrical contact.

A 20-foot THX Ultra-certified speaker cable with SpeakON connectors is supplied with each subwoofer.

Professional-Grade Cabinet Construction

The enclosure features premium medium-density fiberboard (MDF) construction with professional-grade rabbet-and-dado locked panels.

This robust cabinet design provides excellent structural integrity and helps minimize unwanted cabinet resonance during high-output bass reproduction.

Premium Galaxy Black Finish

Single vs. Dual Subwoofer Configuration

The THX-1200-SW offers flexibility for different home theater environments when paired with the required KA-1000-THX amplifier.

Single THX-1200-SW Configuration

A single THX-1200-SW powered by the KA-1000-THX delivers impressive low-frequency performance for small- to medium-sized dedicated home theaters.

This configuration provides powerful bass reproduction while maintaining the accuracy and clarity expected from premium Klipsch audio equipment.

Dual THX-1200-SW Configuration

For larger dedicated home theaters and reference-level cinematic performance, two THX-1200-SW subwoofers can be powered by a single KA-1000-THX amplifier.

This configuration delivers increased acoustic output and meets the THX Ultra2 system's demanding low-frequency performance requirements.

The dual-subwoofer system is an exceptional choice for enthusiasts seeking the full impact of cinematic soundtracks in larger listening environments.

Designed for Premium Home Theater Installations

The Klipsch THX-1200-SW is an outstanding choice for dedicated home theaters that demand powerful, accurate, and controlled low-frequency reproduction.

Its robust 12-inch driver, professional-grade cabinet construction, and dedicated external amplification make it an excellent foundation for a high-performance home theater bass system.

Pair the THX-1200-SW with compatible Klipsch THX-5000-LCR, THX-6000-LCR, and THX-5000-SUR loudspeakers to create an immersive multichannel cinema experience.

Whether you're building a new luxury private theater or upgrading an existing home entertainment system, the THX-1200-SW delivers the deep, powerful bass and exceptional sonic performance Klipsch is known for.

Important: The THX-1200-SW is a passive subwoofer and requires the Klipsch KA-1000-THX external amplifier. It cannot connect directly to a standard line-level subwoofer output without the required amplification. Professional installation and calibration are recommended for optimal performance.
