JTR Noesis 215RM Reference Monitor | Dual 15" 3-Way Loudspeaker

The JTR Noesis 215RM Reference Monitor is a high-output, 3-way loudspeaker engineered for reference home theater and high-performance audio systems where tremendous dynamics, controlled directivity and installation flexibility are required. It combines dual 15-inch woofers in a sealed enclosure with JTR's sophisticated coaxial compression driver mounted to a large wooden 70° × 70° horn.

With 95 dB sensitivity, usable output rated at 128 dB and recommended amplification up to 2,000 watts RMS program, the Noesis 215RM is designed to reproduce demanding music and cinema soundtracks with enormous dynamic headroom.

Its symmetrical design also allows the 215RM to be used vertically as a left or right loudspeaker or horizontally as an exceptionally capable center channel, making it particularly compelling for reference LCR systems behind acoustically transparent projection screens.

Dual 15-Inch Sealed Design

The Noesis 215RM incorporates two 15-inch woofers in a sealed enclosure, providing substantial displacement and powerful low-frequency performance without requiring the additional cabinet volume of a deeply tuned vented design.

JTR's woofers feature 19 mm Xmax, reduced moving mass, increased mechanical excursion capability and custom surrounds, cones and spiders.

JTR rates the 215RM at:

32 Hz – 24 kHz ±3 dB in free air

with response extending below 20 Hz in-room depending on placement and the acoustic environment.

For dedicated cinema systems, pairing the 215RM with JTR Captivator subwoofers allows the loudspeaker to concentrate on extraordinary dynamics and clarity while dedicated subwoofers handle the most demanding low-frequency effects.

Coaxial Compression Driver

The Noesis 215RM uses a neodymium coaxial compression driver with annular diaphragms for its midrange and high-frequency reproduction.

The driver is physically concentric and acoustically time aligned, allowing the midrange and high frequencies to behave as a coherent source rather than originating from physically separated drivers.

This point-source approach is central to the Noesis design philosophy and helps produce precise imaging and consistent spatial presentation across the listening area.

Large Wooden 70° × 70° Horn

The coaxial compression driver is mounted to a substantial wooden horn providing a symmetrical 70° × 70° coverage pattern.

Horn loading extends down to approximately 500 Hz, allowing the compression driver to cover a remarkably broad portion of the audible range.

The symmetrical dispersion pattern is especially important for the 215RM because it allows the loudspeaker to maintain its intended coverage whether installed vertically or horizontally.

Reference LCR Performance

The Noesis 215RM is particularly well suited to high-performance Left-Center-Right theater systems.

Three identical 215RMs can be installed behind an acoustically transparent projection screen, creating a consistent front soundstage with matching drivers, horns, dispersion and output capability across all three channels.

Using identical speakers across the front stage eliminates many of the compromises associated with using a smaller, differently configured center-channel speaker between larger left and right loudspeakers.

For a reference private cinema, that consistency can be extremely valuable for dialogue, music and effects that move across the front soundstage.

Horizontal Center-Channel Installation

JTR specifically accommodates horizontal installation with the current Noesis 215RM.

The cabinet includes removable rubber feet. When the 215RM is positioned horizontally as a center channel, the feet can be removed and replaced with black flat-head screws.

Because the horn has a symmetrical 70° × 70° dispersion pattern, rotating the entire loudspeaker does not create the dramatic dispersion changes commonly associated with conventional horizontal center-channel designs.

Shallower 16-Inch Cabinet

The current Noesis 215RM features a 16-inch cabinet depth, reduced from the previous 18-inch design.

At:

the 215RM provides dual 15-inch drivers and reference-level output from a relatively shallow enclosure.

That reduced depth can be particularly valuable behind acoustically transparent projection screens, inside dedicated theater baffle structures and in rooms where every inch of screen-wall depth matters.

95 dB Sensitivity & Extreme Dynamic Capability

JTR rates the Noesis 215RM at 95 dB sensitivity at 2.0 volts in free air.

Usable output is rated at an exceptional 128 dB, based on a calculated 131 dB peak minus 3 dB of compression.

The loudspeaker can accept up to 2,000 watts RMS program power, providing substantial headroom when paired with appropriately capable amplification.

Nominal impedance is 4 ohms.

Improved Crossover

The current Noesis 215RM incorporates an improved crossover designed for even lower distortion.

The network uses quality polypropylene capacitors and perfect-lay inductors, while the symmetrical horn geometry and low crossover points are engineered to maintain consistent power response through the transition between the woofers and coaxial compression driver.

Baltic Birch Construction

JTR constructs the Noesis 215RM from 24 mm, 18-ply void-free Baltic Birch plywood rather than conventional MDF.

The enclosure is heavily braced to withstand the substantial mechanical forces generated by the dual 15-inch woofers while minimizing unwanted cabinet movement.

A Matte Black Paint finish and magnetically attached grille complete the purpose-built design.
